What Scares You the Most? Posted: 05-15-05 18:09pm
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to ask you what scared you
the most (if you actually freaked out…)
when you found you were pregnant?
I’m asking this question because i’m
currently working on a teen pregnancy
subject for university, and I thought the
best thing was to have the own opinion
from girls who actually experienced the
situation.
As for me, I don’t know what would have
scared me the most: telling my parents,
having to raise the kid on my own, maybe
losing some of my friends, the labour
itself  …
i also wanted to know if it was an obvious
fact for you to keep the baby…or if it
was a difficult choice to make.
Thanks a lot for your responses
i only want to add that I think you’re
all very courageous. Facing those things
at your age makes you grow so fast, and
even if you’re still “teens” , this
makes you more mature than some of older
people!

What Scared Me... Posted: 05-17-05 17:38pm
Hi I am a 16 yr old mother of beautiful
identical twin boys that are 3 months old
the thing that scared me the most was not
what people thought but mostly about if my
babys where going to be alright and they
are perfectly healty its hard because now
I have to think before I say "yea lets go
to the movies on friday" I have to think
who will watch the boys I am very happy
that me and my boyfriend/ the twins dad
are still together and love each other
more and more everyday. Being a teen mom
means nothing comes before you kids love

I was 19 (not exactly teen pregnancy) when
I found out I was pregnant almost six
years ago now and the thing that scared me
the most was telling my dad. I knew my
mum and dad would be supportive but I was
a daddy's girl and didn't want to let him
down which is what I thought I did. When
I told my mum she hugged me and told me it
was going to be alright and when I told my
dad he held my hand and said it wasn't the
end of the world (i'm very lucky to have
both of them). After that not much
scared me. Yes I worried if my baby was
going to be alright (thankfully he was)
and now I pretty much worry about him all
the time like when he's in school, if he's
making friends and hoping he doesn't get
hurt.
Lots of people especially younger people
get scared of what the birth is going to
be like or how they are going to cope
after the birth and will they make good
parents. Money I think is a hugh issue
aswell for teen mothers and coping on
their own.

What scares me the most is losing the
baby. I am 17 and I just found out I was
pregnant about 2 weeks ago and im always
worried about doing someting wrong and
losing the baby...So now im always
watching what I do and eating good foods.

Thank you for the replies! I love to read
about your experiences...Because through
all the stories i've read on the internet,
the only thing I can conclude is that even
it seems quite scary to be a teen
mum...When the baby's here, it's the
happiest thing ever! Hehe...Looking
forward to it (by the way, i'm a 20
year-old french girl...Sorry I forgot to
introduce myself:that's rude!) ;-)
