I Have a Question Posted: 05-16-05 23:07pm
I have always thought that I was pro-life,
but because of my never ending threads
with steen, I am not quite sure. I
believe that a woman has the right to keep
or terminate a pregnancy but under certain
circumstances (just because you dont want
a baby not being one). My mother had an
abortion when I was 3 because she was
severely depressed and needed medication
that would have harmed the baby. Joss
(the baby) already had something wronge
with him, and my mother had to choose
between joss or her 3 year old and her
sanity. Obviously she chose us and had
the abortion so she could get the
medication to help her get well. The
thing is I agree with my mothers decision.
Of coarse in my case I would never have
thought twice about an abortion even
though I am 17 and have cervical cancer.
My doctor told me that I could carry my
daughter without any side effects to her
or myself, other than having to have my
cervix removed after my pregnancy. I am
now 35 weeks pregnant and praying every
night that I go into labor! Lol, my
question is; by me agreeing with my
mothers choice and accepting that in some
situations you gotta do what you gotta do,
does that make me pro-choice?

Hi there! Your mom did what she felt was
right @ the time and you are doing what
you feel is right. Being pro-choice does
not mean that we are 100% for abortion, we
believe in choice, we do not know what
that other woman is going thru, she might
be thinking that that thing inside of her
is poison and if she were to have it she
would mame it, not feed it abuse it, I
have seen alot of this, we do not know the
whole story, their are women in this world
that are deathly afraid of babies and
children, I have seen this too, we are not
walking in these women's shoes, you can be
whatever you want to be but we as
pro-choice allow pregnant females to have
their choice.
Sincerely,
sandy

Well lets see, the reason that I am
wishing to go into labor is because for
one if you have ever been pregnant you
would then realize how uncomfortable it is
in the last month, plus I went into
pre-term labor with my daughter at 26
weeks, no one thought that I would have
lasted this long and my daughter was given
plenty of steriods so that if she had been
born early then she would be just as good
as a full-term baby. My doctor is
actually going to induce me in a few weeks
if I dont deliver first.
I know I shouldnt have asked this question
because, well, your total lack of
compassion in your answer is suprisingly
what I expected! At least steen cares
about what he stands for, this has only
brought me to the conclusion that he is a
better man than I gave him credit for.

Hey babymomma2005 congrats on your
daughter i'll bet you are getting excited
huh?
Anyway---you can be pro-life for yourself
(as in you would never have an abortion)
but you can be pro-choice for other people
(as in they do what they do and you don't
worry either way). I know alot of people
like that.

whatever @@ I do know that premature
babies have major health issues. At
least try to hold off on being induced
until 38 weeks. You do know that until
37 weeks gestation, the lungs aren't
developed fully? You do care about your
unborn "child", right? I would never in
a million years have wished for a
premature
child.
well if my doctor seems to think that my
baby is ready for delivery, than I think
i'm going to take her advice. As I said
before my daughter was given steriods to
help her lungs mature faster. I also have
my own reasons for wanting to deliver
sooner, I was informed by the md anderson
cancer center that if I delivered within
the next few weeks I might not have to
loose my whole cervix, so that if I find a
husband in the future I can have another
child if we choose to. Bella is also way
over the weight limit that would keep her
in the hospital if I delivered soon, so I
would be able to take her home when I went
home.

actually as she is 35 weeks she could give
birth to a healthy baby anytime from 1
week on. Even without the steroids. As
she was given steroids for bella's lungs
to mature, bella would be fine even now.
She's over 5 lbs and all. I am 34 1/2
weeks preggers with a lil boy who is
already 5 1/2 lbs and it is extremelly
uncomfortable, so I know exactly where she
is coming from.

actually, no, a full term fetus is
considered 37 weeks gestation. And if
she really cared about her current
pregnancy, she wouldn't cut short the
gestation time for selfish reasons. But
I guess as long as you are pro "life" it
is ok to have a right over your body,
huh?

so do i. And guess what? My future
child's development came before my
comfort. Too bad you and your fellow
pro "lifers" can't say the same. And
giving steroids means something is wrong.
Healthy full term babies don't need
drugs to live. Sick babies need drugs.
Glad I was selfish enough to let my
pregnancy go the way nature intended.
Too bad you ladies can't say the
same.
i was at my doc's yesterday and he told me
anything from 36 weeks on is fine!!!! As
for babymama2005 and the steroids, it's
more to do with medical reasons, she has
cancer!! They are trying to save a part
of her so she can have future children as
she is still very young.
Us ladies, my pregnancy is going the way
nature intended, no drugs nothing for me,
so why don't you learn to shut your
judgemental f-ing mouth, health forum.

pc--noone said that 35 weeks was full
term. Twisting again I see. So according
to you she is selfish because she has
cancer and wants to do what is best for
her and her baby.
Wow--you actually let your pregnancy
continue..I'm shocked with your attitude.
My pregnancy was 100% natural until
complications beyond my control started to
risk my sons health and my own health so
yeah I can say the same.
Babies can be born sick even if they are
full term and babies can be born healthy
at 35 weeks...What's your point?

about prem babies being sickly is just bs
we have had three and they have had less

She's 17 years old, she's lucky to be

children if she can have them. She
didn't say she was gonna pull the baby out
herself early, only have her early if her

and what do you call having half of your
cervix removed if not having treatment ?
Do you actualy know how fast a cancer can
spread?
Now if she had terminated her pregnancy to
receive trearment you would be defending
her to the death.
I think the fact that cancer can claim a
life in a matter of weeks and she want's
her child to have a mother to love her is
her main priorty right now .
Whether her child is illegitamate has
nothing to do with this debate and I think
your referal to it really lets the pro
choice side down.
You really are one sick little puppy.
