She *agreed* to it. She's an accessory to the fact.

If you are with someone and they decide to rob a bank and you say okay and sit in the car while they do it...You are just as guilty as they are.

It's just sick, especially as it was a 26 week old fetus. She wouldn't have been able to even get an abortion at that stage unless there were health reasons. Ugh

The analogy was not stupid..If you think it was then that's your problem. The girl is no different then girls who have their babies in bathrooms and leave them in trashcans. She is just as guilty as he is..She *allowed* it to happen...She *wanted* it to happen. She is not a helpless victim. She was fully aware of what was going ot happen by *letting* her boyfriend beat her.

Did you not read my first post about parental consent laws? While I feel that they do more harm than good that does not excuse this girls actions. Have you ever heard of fetal protection laws?

I do think that they both must have been very desperate and scared to risk doing something like this.
I say that they both need help not punishment I cannot imagine being desperate or scared enough to do something like that and I can only hope that there are better resources and such out there if/when my children ever feel as desperate/scared as these two young people did.

Iknow what you are saying m2t and it really is wrong that any of them are being punished but I agree that if he is being punished then so should she they were both agreeable to the act.
In a perfect world these young people would be given the help that they so desperatly need.

It reads as though the only reason he is being charged at all is because she was reagrded as too young to consent to being beaten. So I guess if she was over 18, then there would have been no crime committed at all.

Did I state she was a helpless victim? Why not try reading my posts before spouting off? She allowed it to happen, but it is against the law to beat people. I don't know of any law that states it is illegal to allow yourself to get beat up. Why not show me a law stating that allowing someone to beat the crap out of you is illegal? Too hard for you?

i know you think they do more harm that good. I don't think they do any good.

Fetal protection laws my butt... This girl wanted to terminate the pregnancy and wasn't allowed to because some stuffy politicans know her situation better than her. I hope the blood from this weighs heavy on their hands.

Omg! Please do not start with the age stuff because with age comes experience and maybe I was not pregnant at 16 but I was working starting @ 12.5y/o. I was a hippy and was not even thinking of having sex until graduation night sr. Yr and then it was a forced thing and we were engaged ring and all, that weekend we went to hawaii to plan our wedding and I got cold feet after forced sex. After that I traveled around in every state in thr u.S.A. And got college bound, went in the military during another cs war and more education. Now I spend my time helping people, happily married, with my animals. So, please do not talk about age as I have too much age and experience on you and pretty much all of you.
Sincerely,
sandy

what are they going to charge her with? Her boyfriend beat the crap out of her with a baseball bat. I understand that she agreed to it and I think this should be a shining example of what parental consent laws make young women resort to.

lisa, you must be a little bit batty. It is because she could **not** get an abortion that this happened.

How could she *not* get an abortion? I don't recall anything about her *not* being able to get an abortion.
