Hey. Ive been having some strange
problems lately and i'm a little
worried...
Ok i'm 19 years old, I used to smoke
marijuana (not even for long.. About 6
months) but I quit recently because at the
end whenever i'd smoke i'd freak out.. My
pulse would skyrocket, and i'd panic..
Aside from that I should note that I quit
smoking in the beginning of march, and was
put on antidepressants(citalopram hbr,
20mg whatever that is)
lately ive been noticing some scary
stuff.. And its only getting worse
really. My hands have started shaking!
Not only my hands even I can sometimes get
my face to twitch... At 19 thisis really
embarassing and its almost to the point
where other people might notice it.. The
second main thing thats happening is when
i'm lying down, my hands especially, go
numb and fall asleep alot easier than they
used to..
Anyhow, i'm getting increasingly worried..
Any advice would be wonderful, thanks

hi, I have heard about this and the best
thing you can do is stay off the
marijuana. Things will get better,
although it may take a while.

You probably have bad circulation, whether
as a result of the marijuana (sp?) or
otherwise. That might account for the
spasms, too, as they have the same effect
as shivering; keeping the blood flowing.
In any case, go and see your doctor. S/he
isn't a police officer, and will listen to
what you have to say. There are many
causes for that kind of problem, and it's
important to get it checked out.

What you describe is some of the side
effects of the meds you're on, especially
the numbness. Go back to the Dr. Who
prescribed them and ask if he can put you
on something else.
