Patch Mistake, Is Pregnancy Possible?

Well, that is exactly what my boyfriend tells me but unfortunately I have finals tuesday through thursday and I dont think I can study under stress. I mean it is just so depressing just to think about it. I have been thinking that if I am (god I hope not), if I could take the pill to make it go away as soon as possible. If any of you guys know anyone who has done this please let me know how it works and if I should go for it. But I really hope that the ecp worked and that I get my period next week like im supposed to. I mean ii only had the patch off for 2 days and I put it on the day before I went to the clinic. I have been thinking so much about whether or not I should take a home pregnancy test. Im really afraid of the out come yet I dont think I will survive until thursday. Would somebody please give me some advise!

I posted my concern a few days ago and nobody except for one person actually responded. While I was looking for answers I saw this forum but I was expecting peope to be more encouraging. Im sorry if I sound a little upset, its just that I am so stressed out I feel like im going insane. I can barely sleep thinking about my issue. I never took a hpt because I was afraid and because I thought that whether I am or not is not going to change even if I found out before my appt. I guess I still have hope. I am praying that I get my regular period b/c I hope I am not pregnant!

I may not be much help, but I totally understand where you're coming from with not getting any answers. This forum used to be really good at helping people out but lately i've found that most people (the ones that were actually helpful) don't come on anymore. :roll: I just think that if you're this stressed out about it and you're period was supposed to come on monday and it hasnt yet, then you should take a test. True nothing will change from now until tomorrow for your doc appointment but at least you'll be a little more at ease. I was in the same situation as you (actually I think you replied to one of my posts), but I doubt i'm pregnant now cause as of yesterday I started.... Something I mean its just spotting but probably the beginning of my period, still a little part of me is thinking perhaps its implantation bleeding. Anyway, I hope someone responds who can be more helpful but if you just want to talk or anything i'm always here. :)

Thank you for responding! The doctor had actually told me not to stress it too much because that could delayed my period. In reality I can get my period anytime between 2 and 5 days after I take the patch off (during week 4). In this case it was on monday, may 23 that I took it off so that means that I should get it between thursday and saturday. The reason why I asked is because since it was the first time that I took the ecp I didnt know when to expect it. Yet I read that after taking the pill, your period could come either a few days earlier or a few days late. In any case my appt is tomorrow and I am praying for the test to be negative and for my period to come. I'll let you know tomorrow how everything went and regarding your situation "are you sure that it is your period and not something else?. If you are then no worries, but if you are not, go to a clinic and get a blood test to make sure you are not expecting.

So, I couldn't play the waiting game any more and took another test this morning. Negative. So where the hell is my period?? Lol. I mean besides really really light spotting tuesday, i've had nothing. Just being stubborn I suppose, nothing new there really. :roll: how did everything go with your doc appointment?? I know I should be super glad i'm not, which I am cause that would have been a really big mess in a lot of ways, but I will admit there was a part of me that really thought I was and when I saw the negative result that part was a little disapppointed. Well honey, I wish I could say the same. I actually called my doc before I went to confirm the appt but nobody picked up (i assumed she was with a patient) so I decided to go anyway after my final exam today. To my surprise she was not in and not only that, nobody saw me because in that clinic they do not take anyone after the times they have for walk ins. So therefore I ended up doing what I had been so afraid to do, I bought a hpt at rite aid. But im telling you, I am so scared to take it that it is incredible. I still have not seen any sign of a period except for some cramps last night and this morning. I am so happy for you { believe me you are going to be thankful that you are not pregnant because a baby is just too big a responsibility and you have to be extra ready. I hope my test is negative too. In any case im gonna go on monday to the clinic to check up on my doc but I am still thinking about whether or not to take the test home!

B/c pills, shots and other devices are not 100% effective bu I am not sayin not to use them. Home pregnancy tests are not always correct. Psychologically you can make yourself feel pregnant when you are not, you can even push back your period with anxiety or stress. If you still feel you are preggars, go to the Dr., get a blood test so if you are preggars then, get started on the pre-natal care.

I know its easy for me to say but take the test! Lol. Seriously, you're stressing about this and that cant be good, it'll probably just delay you're period more, right? So if you take the test at least you'll know one way or another and then on monday you're doc can confirm the results. I know you're scared, I was scared too but now that I know its this huge relief and I feel so much better and I know that if I don't get my period in a couple days I should take another test or head for the docs (although its impossible lately to get an appointment :roll: ). Take the test hun, believe me you'll feel a lot better.

Well I actually bought a test as I told you yesterday but I wanted to wait till the morning because they others told me that is more accurate. So anyway, I couldnt resist and went on and did it. The problem is I guess I was so anxious that I didnt do it correctly or maybe I just bought one that was too cheap. Which ones do you guys recommend? Well actually I woke up a little while ago b/c I felt like I needed to sleep pn it and when I went to the bathroom to pee, I cleaned myself and it was dark pink like it is the day I get my period. Im gona wait a couple of hours to see what happens. As for me, that test I took that was negative well I looked at it a while, actually a few hours, after I took it and found it positive. People have told me that its probably nothing and was just some kind of line (forget what they called it) and that it was nothing to worry about. The thing is the box said it could take up to 10 minutes to get a result and I checked after only a couple and saw that it was negative and then threw it out, so who knows when that positive came or if it really is nothing to worry about. I took another test today and it was negative lol. So who knows whats going on. I'm 5 days late (nothing since that spotting on tuesday) so if my pd doesn't show up within a few days i'll make a docs appointment. Maybe i'm just one of those women who can never get a positve hpt. Well as I had said in my previous message I had cramps since wednesday night and then on thursday morning but no period. So I went to my doc but she wasnt there so I ended up buying a hpt. I did it on thursday afternoon but it was invalid and I got no lines at all. So I was so frustrated and just wanted friday to come so that I could test again. But I got my started bleeding lightly in the morning and about two hours later, there was my period. I thanked god so many times because I really didnt want to be pregnant. What's funny is that when I started getting cramps I prayed because I preferred to agozine in pain with my regular period as long as I wasnt pregnant.

Hey.....I used to be on the patch...I had that problem many many times......What happens is your body has to start all over again. I wouldnt worry if I was you. I had my period about 3 times in one month because my patch kept comin off and etc. :roll: lol........But no worries I never became pregnant.....Don't stress that delays your period. I just found out about 2-3 weeks ago that I am now 7 weeks pregnant but I am gettin married and happy! I hope all works out for you! Let me know! :d

Well I was stressing the issue too much but it was because I had never had a patch off not even for a day. Well, my fear went away on friday when I got my period. But believe me I was losing my mind! So I am very good now that that problem was resolved and all that is left for me to do is enjoy my summer! Thanks to all of you!
