Q: Pregnancy On the Pill?

I'm only a bit concerned right now, as my first pregnancy was a result of missing a few pills. I've been paranoid ever since and only now have just started on the pill again, taking every pill at the same time each night.

Which got me thinking, when I first started three weeks ago taking the sugar pills, my period was quite short. However, day one of the active pills made me sick, I took my first active pill at 8pm and by 11-12 at night I was throwing up. Was this enough time for it to absorb into my body? The second night I was nausus but didn't throw up.

I've taken my last active pill tonight so I should be seeing period tomorrow as it's due then. One week ago I noticed I still got the stretchy-globby clear mucus (sorry if too much info) that I usually get during ovulation. Is this normal, as I thought the period prevents ovulation all together?
My husband and I had intercourse the day before noticed the mucus.
I am a usuall 28 days cycle.

I'm sure i'm being overally paranoid as from my first experience but i'd love a second opinion.
Thankyou!

Thankyou ladies,
it's still too early for a test, but i'm really curious as if you do ovulate on the pill. I'm on to the sugar pills now.
I'm taking monofeme 28 which is the generic of nordette.

Updating...
Just updating again, still open for any more opinons if you are reading this?
Have taken two sugar pills now, and still no sign of period, however i'm not too concerned as I read that they can take up to a few days when on the sugar pills.
I have become very aware of my breasts, they are not hurting, they just feel bigger, slight tender around the edges and heavier. I've also read that this can be a side effect of the pill and the hormones in the pill. I've only just noticed my breast as of yesterday.

Still wondering if you can ovulate on the pill?
Anybody?

Re: Updating..
Honestly I say you can since I got pregnant on the pill, it's one of those you must take the pill everyday at the same time in order for it to properly work.

As far as I am concerned you still ovulate while on bc, what bc does is thicken your mucus around something (not sure on all the medical terms I should look it up) which prevents sperm from getting in. I still get that clear globby stuff usually before starting my period. And its weird about your nausua thing because maybe a month or two ago, I take my pill at 7, and around 11 say I would be feeling really sick, and it was like that for a couple days, same thing. So maybe it is just getting used to the bc, I dont usually have any symptoms anymore cause ive been on it for about 5 months. But hope maybe some of this was helpful. :)
