Why Am I Female With Alports And Not Just a Carrier????????? Posted: 05-20-05 21:04pm
I have the hearing aids,,,,i have the
protein, the high
cholesterol...............I have
alports.....But women are supposed to just
be carriers? Or at least have the disease
more mild? Not me..........Im having
renal failure begin.
Anyone ever heard of this? My university

We have been explained that there is one
'rare' form/mutation of alports that
affects women equally as it does men
becuause it is not chromosonal dominant
(or something like that). I am just
starting to understand it and can explain
a little more what I know if you would
like.
thanks and good luck!
