Changing My Start Date
Posted: 05-22-05 13:58pm

Ok so when I started the pill 5 months ago my dr told me to choose the sunday start date option because it was less likely i'd get my period on the weekend. Well after 5 months, i've realized it takes about 3-4 days from my last pill to get my period (for example, if I take my last pill on saturday it isn't until tuesday possibly wednesday when I start my period.) this means I have my period on the weekend which is a pain. Therefore, i'm wondering if I could slowly change my start date to say saturday and then next month even friday so that the first day of my period should be monday. That way I wouldn't still have it come the following saturday. Does anyone know if this is ok or am I going to regret messing with my start date? I'm just really annoyed at having my period on the weekend when I want to go to the beach and hiking and generally not be worried with that stuff. Thanks.

I believe you can start a new pack early, just not late. Sounds like you have a plan there. I've done it before and I had no problems, but everyone reacts differently. Good luck!

I agree with ashes.. Earlier not later. A day at a time is best so your body doesn't get too confused. I have done 2 days before without any problems as well.
