Worried And Going Crazy!!! Posted: 05-22-05 18:48pm
Hello everyone,
my boyfriend and I are both 19 and have
been sexually active for about 7 months
now. We always use protection and are as
safe as we possibly can.
I have always been worried when it comes
near to the time when I am expecting my
period. For the first few months I got my
period regularly and everything was
fine.
But then one month for some reason I was
more worried than usual. I guess it was
due to the fact that my sister's best
friend had just found out she was pregnant
at 17. When I say worried I mean severe
anxiety. There was this constant pain in
my stomach and I felt this feeling of
dread the days before my period arrived.
Well my period didn't come...And I got
even more scared. I live with my
boyfriend so I was driving him crazy
talking about it all the time and
worrying, I thought about it literally all
day long. Well he convinced me to go with
him to get an at home pregnancy test. I
took it and the results were negative. I
finally felt better and the next day my
period came.
The next month my period came as usual and
things were fine. But this month that
horrible worried feeling is back along
with the stomach pain. I'm so scared and
worried. My boyfriend is really upset
cause he doesn't know what do do to calm
me down. My period is already 4 days
late. We're thinking my only option will
be to take another pregnancy test.
I'm scared for two reasons, one being that
I might be pregnant, and two will I be
forced to use pregnancy tests every month
to calm me down enough to have my period?
I need some advice, i'm desperate. Is
there anything I can do to stop this???
I've been searching all over the net and I
can't get the help I need for this
problem, any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Well one thing you can do is....Stop
having sex lol. But you probably won't
want to go with that option. So all you
can really do is use condoms and take the
pill every day and on time. Also, try to
avoid having sex the days you would
ovulate (leading up to, day of, and a day
after). You would be about 99.9%
protected. But there is always that
chance. But I think if you do all that
you should be fine. And to keep the
possibility of being pregnant off your
mind, keep busy and do not stress because
that can delay your period. And worry you
even more. And as for right now, take
another test. Do you have any preg
symptoms? If so I would test, also just
to ease your mind. Good luck,
jada

Thanks for responding so quickly and with
such great advice!
I feel a whole lot better now. Just
having someone other than my boyfriend
telling me to calm down helps a lot. I'm
going to try my best to keep busy and stop
being so anxious about it. And i'll take
a test in the morning just to be perfectly
sure it's just in my head. I don't have
any of the signs that I know of, so I
guess that's a good thing but i'll know
for sure tomorrow.
