Question Please Help
Posted: 05-23-05 10:53am

Ok I was drunk on saturday night, and this girl was sucking on my ear. I didnt kiss her & didnt do anything else with her, she was just try to turn me on so something would happen, but it never did. Now for the few minutes she wa sucking on my ear she might of scraped of some skin. I wasnt bleeding or anything, it was just like the top layer of skin. So my question is could I get hiv from this girl from that? Dont know that she has it(hypotheticaly speeking), but she looks like a promiscuous person. Thanks to every one who responds.

Ear Sucking

Now tell me, have you ever heard of anyone, in the 25 year history of hiv, confirming that they caught it by having their ear sucked? (the answer is no by the way).
Let's consider -

- saliva is not capable of transmitting hiv. This is fact.
- I strongly doubt that she scraped enough skin off you ear for it to start bleeding, unless she was insane. Was it bleeding? Was she insane?

The only way that infection could be theoretically possible (but extremely unlikely), is if she made a substantial cut in your ear and she had her own blood in her mouth - her blood could enter your blood stream and cause infection. Firstly, from what you describe, any scraping was minimal. Secondly, it is not common for people to have blood in their mouth.
You shouldn't worry about this at all. Tiny scrapings are said not to be proper vectors of transmission. Especially when only saliva is involved. Just consider how many similar things have happened in the past (millions) and yet have never been documented methods of transmission. If it were that easy, many millions more people would become infected.

P.S. By the way, judging whether someone is hiv+ by their appearance is not a good idea. Just practise safe sex (condoms) with everyone, even if they look as pure as eve before that apple episode.
