Burn On My Tummy Posted: 05-23-05 21:31pm
I'm about 25 or 26 weeks pregnant
now....Lots of stretch marks....And just
got boiling water poured over my tummy
from my own clumsiness. Baby is alright
as far as I know....He was kicking at the
ice pack. I was wondering if sudden
shocks or wounds like that could cause
complications??
My mother said if it's still bad in the
morning that I should postpone my
professional presentation in the morning
till it heals a bit....Can't wear a dress
and panty hose on a burned pregnant
belly.
So anyway....Yeah...Can something like
that trigger any complications?

Have you called your doctor? I dont hink
that it would hurt your baby but it could
cause a serious infection which could hurt
your son. I would at least call your
doctor and let him/her know what is up.

I would defently call
your Dr. B/c they say that real hot baths
or spa's are bad for the baby so boiling
water couldn't be good..... I dont' know
but I would suggest you call your Dr.
Your stomach being so hot and then so cold
with ice.. I don't know if that would
effect the baby or not... Good luck and
it's good that his still moving..

Yeah....But it's long periods exposed to
heat that can hurt the baby 'cause of
raising blood pressure from the heat and
can cause preeclampsia. The boiling water
was only on it for a few seconds and I
woke up this morning in pain but the baby
was kicking me as usual, trying to make me
get up...Lol...So I think he's fine
really. I'm more worried about it
triggering pre-term labor or something.
I did call my dr's office, however. My
prenatal coordinater is out till wednesday
so I called the main desk and told them
what happened. They're gonna hunt someone
down to get an opinion and gonna call me
back. I have cream to treat it with but I
dunno if it's dangerous for the baby or if
it's ok to use. The area looks really
nasty and I have ended up staying home
today because of it.
