Lingering Back And Leg Pain

I have been through 2 major back surgeries, have got three levels of fusion, have been through numerous epidural injections, physical therapy, tens units, chiropractor, and major narcotics and still have the back and leg pain that effects my life as I used to know it. I am at a loss to know what to do next. I know that I probably qualify for disablility, but I refuse to go that route unless absolutely necessary. I am a school teacher so the physical demand on my body is not drastic on a daily basis. I do like to participate in other hobbies like hunting and golf but sometimes the ole back just doesn't allow me to do that. I really does not matter what activity I participate in, it makes no difference in the way my back and left leg hurts. I have been told you need to quit playing golf, well my back hurts whether I play golf or not, so why not try to do the things that I enjoy if it makes no difference in the way I feel. I have done some research about the pain pump that they put in your back. I would like to know whether it is worth it or not. I am taking a powerful narcotic painkiller three times a day and would love to be able to stop taking them. I am really not comfortable going into the drug store and getting my prescriptions refilled the way that they are being abused now. If the pump is a possibility of relief, then I thought I would give it a thought. I know my wife is ready for me to get some relief. So far, the meds seem to allow me to go on with life as usual but I would sure love to be able to stop taking such powerful meds. (have no idea what it is doing to my insides). Any help on this would greatly be appreciated. Anybody with the pain pump can let me know how it works and whether it is worth it or not.
