Not Sure If Im Having a Miscarriage Posted: 05-25-05 19:05pm
Hi! This is my first time getting
pregnant so im still stumbling on what to
do and what not to do during pregnancy.
My question is, im experiencing severe
headache for 3 days now and as far as I
know it is normal to have it. But on the
third day I had a fever (100 f)
incorporated with a headache. I have no
bleeding or spotting so far and I haven't
felt any abdominal pains. Am I having a
symptom of miscarriage?

From what i've heard, if there's no blood
that's a really good sign. Plus no pains
or cramping... Even better. Have you
called your doctor yet though? It's
really best to get their feedback as
they're the experts. Don't feel bad or
embarrassed to call and ask for help.
That's what you pay them for. ;) let me
know what happens.

Thanks! I haven't called my doctor yet.
I will call them tom asap. As for pains,
I forgot to tell you, i'm also
experiencing lower back pains. I am only
13 weeks and it's kind of early to
experience this. Am I right? So I took
tylenol (with permission from my obgyn).
I am really worried and maybe getting
paranoid by now of what i'm experiencing.
My husband is away for a business trip and
he's coming back tomorrow. So i'm all
alone agonizing the pain and suffering of
being pregnant.
And oh another question, I gained 3 lbs.
Since my last week's monthly appointment.
Is that normal or unusual? Thanks again.

I would think if there is no blood, you
are not having a misc. Just try to take
it easy!

I have experienced a miscarriage, and the
pain is harsh. If there is no bleeding or
abdominal cramping then you are not going
to have a miscarriage. Go get checked by
your doctor.

Ya it doesn't sound like a miscarriage.
Headaches are completely normal, the fever
could be assocaited with the headache.
If you arw having no bleeding or cramping
then I don';t think it's a miscarriage.

I got my first migraine being pregnant.
It's not fun but it's normal. I have 3
weeks before my due date and haven't had a
headache in at least 4 months.

i have to agree, as long as you aren't
spotting or passing any matter, you should
be just fine.
And if its your first time being pregnant,
your body is most likely just trying to
adjust ;]
