Broken Fermur, Longer Leg
Posted: 05-29-05 17:50pm

Hi, two months ago I broke my femur in a car accident, the bone was broken in half right at the middle. I had surgery and they put the rod that goes from the hip to the knee inside my bone.

I am getting better now but I have notice that my leg is now straighter and longer than my other leg probably by 10mm, and I don't know if this is normal.

I can even notince my knee being lower in my broken leg.

Is there a solution for this or this is just normal????

I have the same problem. The doctor told me that when I start walking if it's a problem or causes a limp, I can go to a shoe store and get an insert. It's a very easy solution. But most of the time if it's a little off it won't even effect anyone. (well thats what the doc told me).
