Help!!!
Posted: 05-31-05 15:40pm

Hi everyone! I'm new to this, but hopefully someone on here can give me some advice. I'm a 17yr old sophomore psychology major. Last month I had unprotected sex with a guy that I had been seeing for a minute. A few days later my period came, but it wasn't like it normally was. I took 3 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. This month my period was about 3-4 days late and I decided to take another one today. I was super surprised when it came back positive. I have been noticing some changes in my body and I thought of that as a possibility about a week ago. Now I have no idea what to do.
I have overcome sooooo many obstacles and succeeded. Now I have no idea what to do. My mother is sooo proud of me and I don't want to disappoint her. She still thinks i'm somewhat of a virgin. Growing up isn't a problem because I did that a long time ago. My only issue is telling my mother. She is a single parent and has done so much for my brother (r.I.P.) and i. I don't want her to feel like she has failed, but she does need to know asap. I wrote a letter, but I don't know if that's the best way to do it.
My mother has been an excellent example. Of course i'm going to have to do this alone because the guy is gone and it's not worth the stress and aggravation to get him back.
I need help! If anyone has advice or "two cents" to offer I will gladly accept it. It is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you :-)

If you tell her the news and then back it up with a plan of action she will see that you have thought things threw and your prepared for it

i know that she will want you to finish school and if you think of how you can still do that I think she will take the news better
