Croup Posted: 11-11-03 06:21am
Well a couple of weeks I had to take my
daughter to the emergency room because she
was having a lot of trouble breathing they
diagnosed her with croup I had no idea
what it was but she is doing okay now they
put a steroid injection on her and is
doing perfectly fine how much effect did
this steroid injection do to her body and
what caused her to have croup??

Hi, well it did 20 years ago. My daughter
had the same thing, was taken to the er.
After the second time of this, she was
finally diagnosed with asthma we were told
that the steroid injection opened her
lungs so that she could breath. This also
stopped her from the continuous coughing.
Not sure if this is your case, but thought
you might ask your pediatrican. Hope
everything turns out well for you and your
daughter!

Hi I have a 2 yr old son, who so far has
had croup twice!! I dont know if you
realise but croup can re-occur many times.
We have been told that if my son gets
croup again he needs to be taken to the er
straight away to get the steriod medicine.
Also croup in children is contagious!!!!
Hope you and your daughter never have to
go thru croup again.
Good luck
