I’ve been on birth control since I was
16 (now i'm 21). I never miss any pills
and I take them at the same time everyday
but i’ve gotten pregnant twice while
taking the pills. I got pregnant the
first time at 17 and didn’t realize
until I was almost 4 months along. I was
in a bad car wreck soon after and
miscarried. After that the doctor
switched my b/c, i’ve been on levlen for
2 ½ years (i was on othratricyclen
before). I found out I was pregnant again
last month and had an abortion. I don’t
want to tell my doctor that I had an
abortion, I went to another city to have
it done. She’s been my doctor as well
as my moms and sisters for a long time.
My sister had an abortion about 6 years
ago and the dr has been really short with
her ever since. I haven’t told anyone
about the abortion but I don’t know if I
need to switch b/c pills again. I go to
my doctor next month for my annual exam,
will she be able to tell that I had an
abortion?? Any suggestions, comments, or
advice would be greatly appreciated.

For one, obviously the birth control pill
doesn't work for you. That could be
because you are taking some other
medication or supplement that lowers its
effectiveness. Or it could be because
your hormonal or physiological form is
somehow resistant to their effect. So
you need to change contraception, likely
including condoms or other barrier
methods. But likely, you can never rely
on just one method ever again.

I do think the doctor would know if you
had an abortion. They always ask and
they feel around. You may still be
sensitive.

Debating... Posted: 06-03-05 12:16pm
I still debating on whether or not to
which doctors... And is the abortion
something I should tell them about? I've
always been against abortion but until
your faced with the decision can you
really say what you'd do. I've been on
b/c cause I don't want to get pregnant
right now. My boyfriend and I can't enjoy
sex when he has a condom on cause he knows
it's painfully for me. Is it possible
that the hormone levels aren't high enough
in the pills i've been taking before??
And... I haven't started my period since
i've had the abortion, do I have to wait
til I start to before I can start taking
my b/c pills again?? I figure taking the
pills I have now is than not using any
protection at all, right??
Has anyone else got pregnant while on
birth control??

You Need to Change Your Doctor!! Posted: 03-06-06 02:15am
If you have a doctor that you cannot be
fully honest with about what you're going
through you need to go see someone else!!
First of all no doctor should ever make
you feel bad for a decision that you have
made. That is against their moral oath.
Secondly your doctor cannot fully help you
with your "pregnancy" issues when you
can't tell her about them. If money is an
issue you can go to planned parenthood for
free or very little and they are usually
in every us city. Unless you want to keep
getting abortions which are bad for your
body and could keep you from having
children one day if that is what you want
then you need to go see someone else.
Don't worry about what your mom or your
doctor thinks ulitmately you are the only
person responsible for taking care of your
body. Please seriously think about this.
Abortion is not a form of birth control
and there are alot of emotional and
physical side effects that stay with you
for years. Truse me, I know!!
