Everyone has vaginal discharge. Does your
smell and is it dark yellow or green in
color? That usually indicates infection
and you won't feel well then down there.
It varies during the time of the month
too.

Discharge is normal I think for most
people, or so i've been told.
Is it possible that you may have a yeast
infection. A simple urine sample for you
dr. Or at your health dept. If they
provide those type of services, will have
results for you during your visit.
The differences in smell and color are
usually signs of some type of infection.
And don't let it go. It can lead to
deeper infections that can be worse.

As long as the discharge isn't green,
yellow, or thick and white like cottage
cheese then you should be fine. The
vagina is a self cleansing organ and the
discharge that comes out is just the
vagina cleaning itself.

Hi,
i just want to encourage anyone with a
vag. Discharge, that seems suspiciously
different than normal, to see a doctor.
Yesterday I finally went to have a white
discharge (with no itching, burning or
redness) and was told I have a pretty big
yeast infection.
This was so surprising because the 1st
yeast infection I had was so itchy and
burny that I thought i'd go insane. The
symptoms can be different everytime!
Good luck! Kay

There wasn't anything that looked like
cottage cheese either. It was very
similar to my normal discharge throughout
the month, just heavier.

Finding a Clinic

Kiana,
i just went to a public clinic... They
charge on a sliding scale, they do std
screening, gyn exams, and are for people
with low income/no health insurance.
The best clinics are probably std or
women's clinics because they are always
doing microscopic testing for yeast
etc.... It's also at public clinics that
you can make up a fake name (if you pay in
cash) and not worry about your identity
being known.
The dept of public health in your city
should have some public health clinics
available. The yellow pages might be a
good place to look or on the internet.
Good luck:)

Sometimes if your discharge is white then
that can also mean pregnancy, but like
everyone said discharge is very normal if
you are sexual active.

Natures Housecleaning

Bravo tanya. 99% of the time that
(usually) white dicharge is just the
vagina cleaning itself. I call it
"housecleaning." your vagina is a very
efficient area of your body. It is
constantly maintaining a certain ph level.
That discharge is just natures way of
saying everything is running smoothly.
Converesly, nature has given you
instincts. If you are not sure or suspect
something is wrong, follow your instincts.
Also don't ever, under any circumstances
douche. Douche is one of the worst things
women do to thier vagina. It disrupts the
vagina's delicate ph level. Look at it
this way: you wouldn't clean your whole
body with rubbing alcohol would you?
Don't even do it after sex or during your
periods. Please ladies don't forget the
vagina was built for penises and
menstruation.

I've had discharge, and since it didn't
burn or itch I didn't pay attention to it.
I thought it would go away by itself. But
it didn't, I went to the doctor for my
yearly exam and I spoke to my doctor about
it, he said he noticed!
He sent me a prescription creme that I had
to insert for five nights before bedtime
& it's gone!
Now, I can have spontanious sex w/o
thinking twice.

I discharged alot when I was pregnant. I
really didn't know what it was until I
went to my doctor and he told me. I
discharged atleast 4 to 5 times a day and
it is very messy. It stopped after I had
my baby. I thought it was harming my
child, but I guess not.

What Does This Mean?

I had my baby on aug. 15th, 03, I then
had unprotected sex on sept. 2nd, and he
did cum, now I am having some stringy
mucus discharge, does this mean anything,
I took a pregnancy test and it was
negative. Can I be pregnant? I want to
know if there is a greater chance of
getting pregnant right after I had my
baby?

Apparently you are very fertile right
after giving birth. I would take another
pregnancy test just to be sure or take a
quick visit to your doctor once you are
late on your period!
