Hi ellyc1271, heana73, and dawn ebbs ~
I am so sorry to hear all of you are
suffering the numbness and pain in your
arms and hands.
Ellyc1271 ~
first off I hope the doctor who told you
that it was the sciatic nerve was talking
about your lower limbs? As I am sure you
know the sciatic nerve doesn't effect the
upper body. Yes, weight can be a problem
as well as arthritis. If you have never
been injured it could very well be the
arthritis (bone spurs).
Heana73 ~
you would be very surprised to know even
if you think your were not injured in the
accident you could very well have been.
That is why it is so important to always
get check out after asap a car accident
even if you think you were not hurt. It
can be some time later before you feel
symptoms from the accident. I am now a
retired emt-i and fire fighter and I
always strongly suggested people involved
in a car accident or any accident for that
matter to go to the hospital to be checked
over. I am taking it you have not been
looked at yet for this? First step is to
see you primary doctor and they will know
which way to direct you. When it comes to
numbness and nerves please always see a
neurosurgeon. They are best trained.
Dawn ebbs ~
just because there is no pain doesn't
mean a whole lot. When you have numbness
you should always at lest have it looked
at.
For all of you..... It seems to be a
cervical spine problem and you should have
it looked at.

I am not a doctor but I have had 7 spine
surgeries in the past few years. Four
were on the lumbar spine and 3 were on the
cervical spine. If you check out spine
and beyond you will find more about me and
many others who suffer spine problems.
I hope you check us out. ;)
