I was put on the depo shot in march 2004
and was taken off for medical reasons in
nov 2004(about 8 months). It is now june
2005 and I still have not got my period (6
months off). I don't understand why and
I have taken pregnacy test and I am not
pregnant so if anyone has an idea of
what's going on or if I need to see a
doctor please let me know... :? Thankx

I had the opposite effects coming off
depo. I bled for 3 months then now my
periods are regular agian. But it for
some people it does take some time for
them to even start bleeding again it could
take up to 18 months after the last
injection. But your doctor may beable to
get you on some birth control pills to
start your period back up but you just
have to ask him. Good luck!!

I've done a lot of research on this topic,
especially since i've had so many problems
with this shot. Of course, all women are
different so results from using this shot
vary with the duration of time that the
shot was used. Normally, once coming off
of the shot, you may bleed for a month
straight or longer. If you have used the
shot for nine months or longer, you may
not have a period for some time after
getting off the shot. It is also
recommended that if you desire to have
children any time in the future, to plan
to get off the shot at least six months
before you start trying. It takes some
time for your body to regain it's
fertility. I do know one thing, your
periods should stop after about the second
round of the shot, but I continue to have
month-long periods approximately one month
after I receive the shot.
