Am I Having a Miscarriage? Posted: 11-12-03 15:32pm
I am about 3 months pregnant and just
found out that I had bacterial vaginosis
and an infected womb. I was prescribed
two antibiotics that my doctor assured me
were safe for me and the baby. I am now
done with the antibiotics for the
bacterial vaginosis and about half-way
done with the meds for the infected womb.
A couple of days after I started the
medication I started to have a clear
discharge with clumps of tissue in it.
There was no bleeding, but I am having
lower back pain and this tissue is still
coming out. It ranges in size of very
small flakes to clumps the size of the end
of my thumb. I am pretty scared, but the
doctors I have talked to say that unless
there is bleeding, they don't think
anything is wrong. Also, I have searched
the web and cannot find anything on a
human having an infected womb. Is this
something I should worry about for the
health of the baby?

I recently went through a miscarriage, I
was supposed to be 10 weeks alond and the
egg sac was empty when they did an
ultrasound. I did bleed, I do not know if
there was 'tissue' coming out tbut there
were blood clots and I definately knew
when the sac/placenta/etc came out. If
your doctor says everything is fine and
you are still worried, get a second
opinion. Your situation I really do not
know anything about, but I know stress is
not good for the baby so I would find
another clinic that takes your insurance
or see another of the doctors in your
clinic just for a second opinion, every
doctor does things diferently and maybe
you can get one to do an ultrasound or
something to make sure the baby is
alright. Best of luck to you!
