Q: Hcg Level?
asked by: Lisa-Lisa on June 10th, 2005

Why do some women have low hcg levels than other women? I've taken 4 hpt and all came out negative, yet, for some reason I want to believe I am pregnant.

I'll do some research, but just wanted to know who else tested negative on several occassions and then found out they were actually pregnant after visiting the doctors office?

Thanks, for sharing your stories!

The hcg levels vary in women for different reasons. In some cases they are low and eventually increase. Sometimes in early pregnancy the numbers are low enough that a hpt cannot detect this hormone to give you a positive result. It doesn't always mean that you are carring to eventually miscarry. Doctors order a series of blood work to determine hcg levels and progesterone levels(this one carries the baby to full term) to see one if there is a pregnancy and two to see if the pregancy can be carried along. There are so many scientific reasons why. Your best bet is to see a healthcare professional. Good luck
