If there was negligence or incompetence,

Over here in the u.K there is a time limit
of 3 years to take a case to court if you
haven't been to courtin that time you
cannot procede with a
lawsuite/prosecution.
Is there a time limit in the u,s?

if there are time limits, they vary state
