I was just told I have general anxiety
disorder two days ago and I started on
medication yesterday. I was prescribed
effexor and alprazolam, I was just
wondering if anyone else has used these
meds and if they had suffered any side
effects? I am very nervous about taking
medications, could be part of the anxiety
I don't know.............I'm just scared I
won't be myself. So please if anyone
takes or has taken these meds please talk
back to me. Thanks!

I am an effexor user, i've also was taking
celexa,paxil and prozac.
They could'nt seem to find anything
right ror me, honestly,
effexor does much less ror me than
any others i've taken.
I get worse mood-swings than ever.
I heard that you have to take
a fairly high dosage of this for
it to help!

made me tired until I got used to it. It
didn't change my personality and who I
was. It just made me more laid
back...Which I needed!!

I would die without my xanax. I take 1
10mg pill per day and 150mg of wellbutrin.
You should discuss any side effects with
your doctor, but the alprozolam is great
for anxiety!

Be real careful with xanax. Take it from
someone who has been taking it for years
and years and had to be weened off them
they are tough to stop taking and if your
dose is high enough it can cause seizures
for thats what happened to me when I had
decided to get off them. I told my doc
and when he felt I was weened he quit
giving them to me and I found myself
looking online for these overseas
pharmacy's to get them. Just a word of
caution be careful very addictive.
To the person who wrote I would die
without my xanax I know what you mean

I was on effexor for my generalized
anxiety disorder for 2 years. I took
150mg and it did work for my anxiety
problems. I went out of town for 2 weeks
and forgot my effexor...This was when I
realized that I needed to get off this
medication. I went through the worst
withdrawl symptoms. Depression (which I
never had had), major anxiety, headaches,
issomnia, tingling sensation in my head,
crying. I got back on it and then a few
months decided to wean myself off of it.
Still had major problems coming off it
when I weaned myself off of it. Effexor
has a short life-span then most other
antidepressants...Meaning you miss one
dose and it can really effect you. I
have decided to try a natural approach to
my anxiety.
