I had labor induction and a c-section so I
don't really know what it feels like to
give birth vaginally. My contractions
were like really bad stomach cramps...They
got so bad that I got sick so they gave me
some medication (stadol) to help the
pain. I also had really bad pressure like
someone was sitting on my stomach. After
about 36 hours of labor they did a
c-section. That was more painful than
labor. Of course it doesn't hurt while
they are doing it but afterward it was
terrible.
I've heard that giving birth naturally can
be painful but very rewarding and we you
see that sweet little babies face all the
pain just disappears :)
i'm not trying to scare you...This is *my*
story and everyone is different. I've
heard of people giving birth within hours
of their first contraction and didn't have
terrible pain.
Are you going to have an epidural? Some
people say those are wonderful.
Once again..Not trying to scare
you...That's just my story...Hope you have
an easy birth :)

I don't know yet... But use of epidural
can also be life threatening... One of my
friend also said she had a quick and easy
labor because she always exercise during
her pregnancy... Does it really help?

I have heard that exercising during
pregnancy can help make giving birth a lot
easier. I don't know for sure but I have
also heard the same thing.

Hey pink butterfly,
dont be scared of labor, im not scared at
all! :p
just remember if it were that bad then
women wouldn't keep doing it.
You see i've had cancer twice before and I
nearly died during that time, so just
remember you could be so much worse off!
And as someone said on this forum once,
its like pushing out a big poo, you
struggle and struggle, then feel a huge
feeling of relief once its out :p
hope this helps haha

Hi I had my baby ( number 3) 12 days
ago....... And yes it hurts...... It
hurts like hell........ But you get
through it........ Your body is designed
to do it....... I screamed like a mad
woman and begged for any thing that would
stop the pain, but it was over b4 I knew
it and to be honest with you I cant really
remember just how painful it all
was.......... There are heaps of pain
releif options nowdays and no matter what
you try to imagine you will not know how
it feels untill you are going through it
so stop stressing about it and enjoy athe
rest of your pregnancy!!!!!! Good luck
sweety

Every one is different...... A normal
first labor is about 12 hours...... 1
hour for every cm and then 2 hours for
pushing......... But my first baby was 3
hours from start to finish ( and I wasn't
induced) my friends first was 20
hours........ It all depends on your
body. Inductions generally take a shorter
amount of time.

I was in labour for 36 1/2 hours before
finally having a c-section! The labour
hurt near the end cause I was fully
dilated for 4 hours and for the last 2 the
epidural machine had broken down and they
couldn't replace the needle in the
machine!!!!

I won't have my first baby 'til like
february but I heard that every birth is
different and to not listen to peoples
birth stories because they may scare you.
But good luck and know that they have
stuff to ease the pain so you don't feel
it so bad.

Not to scare anyone but labour hurts lol!
I was in severe back labour for 5 days
before I got an epideral (cant spell lol).
But I still felt the pain. It was a
weird sensation. Honestly I wouldn't
recommend getting an epideral, because
there are too many risks (i got back
problems from it). But all in all the end
result is what counts...Your beautiful
baby!! Im shaking in my boots now cuz
when I get preggers with my hubby I have
to get a c-section, and those sound scary
lol.

My mom and grandmas always tell me it's
the worse pain but it's easy to forget
because once you see your baby you're too
excited and forget about it. Don't worry
i'm a bit scared too but we'll get thru
it. We won't be the first and definitely
won't be the last. Best of luck and don't
stress!

Labor

I had a 27.5 hour labor. They didnt
induce me but they put me on the drip to
speed it up twice. They would put me on
it then take me off when I got started
then took me off and then put me on
again!! It hurts soooooo bad! The
contractions hurt the most.I did not have
any drugs, and I only pushed for less then
12 minutes. My daughter was 6.14oz. And
20 inches long. It hurts being stiched up
and its uncomfortable for about four to
six weeks after having a baby where the
stiches are. As soon as you push the baby
out you feel such a relief! Let me tell
you! Gosh! You feel so much better.
Then you see your baby and its all worth
it. It does hurt im not gonna lie,but its
totally worth it when your done. The only
thing that sucks is the stiches! :) hope
that helps

Just to make you feel better I was 12 lbs
8ounces when I was born and my mom had a
vaginal birth. My mom also never has a
baby under 10 lbs and she had 4 kids (she
was also diagnosted with dibeties in her
30's so no worries to the pregnant women
out there)my mom and sister swear by
epidurals so im confused as to why you all
say not to get one?? I know it makes you
numb from the the waist down and it is
difficult to push but I know with how big
I was as a baby and how big my husband
was, there is no way I am not getting one.
**sorry for the horrible spelling**

My mom had 2 c-sections and almost died
giving birth to me and my brother cause
she has bad asthma. My friend is 17 and
she gave birth at 16 she said it hurt but
its nothing you cant deal with. She also
said its nothing compared to rasing the
baby..

My labour was pretty easy. I was in
labour for 4 hours and didnt get the
epidural. I pushed for 8 minutes. But my
doc said mine was easy also cuz I did a
lot of walking in the end. Another good
thin when u go into labour is, to expect
the worst. It sounds dumb I know but I
thought all these bad things were gonna
happen and I think thats what made my
labour go so eays, and I was paranoid
about labour! Just try to educate
yourself as much as u can about it and it
will be easier for u!

My mom says labour pains are like someone
taking a rolling pin from the top of your
tummy all the way down to the bottom and
it hurts but once it moves down the spot
it was just at doesn't hurt anymore and
then it goes away (and obviously comes
back in a few mins) and she says once you
have the baby the contractions are gone
and no more pain (if your vagina hurts
frum popping a baby out, I have no clue,
but I imagine it would, especially if you
tore anything...But I imagine you don't
really notice it!)
hope that helped.

I was in labor for 22 hours. They induced
me it was painful. I had to have a
c-section. It hurt but its all worth it
I look at my daughter and think what I
went through was a small price to pay.
Once you have your baby you will be to
occupied to think about it. I was in the
hosp for 8 days and whenever I felt pain
or what not my mom would say here have a
dose of this medicine and would hand me my
beautiful baby and you know what its the
fastest pain relief perscribed holding
that baby!!!
All labour stories are scary so try
not to think about that its going to be
okay woman do this everyday I think it
just shows how much stronger we are than
men, lol lol lol!!!
Contractions are rough just remember
to breath and think try and have a focus
pont something to focus on and look at it
while breathing you will get through them
dont worry hun think about your baby.
Its actually a small price to pay for what
you get.
