Underbite & Tmj
Posted: 06-16-05 05:12am

I was born with an underbite and lately my dentist told me that I also developed tmj problems.. However, I visited several dentists & they gave different opinions onto which should be treated first. Others said that the tmj problem should be first because it'll be hard to correct the underbite if I suffer from tmj. The others said that underbite should be the first since it is the main cause why I have tmj. & after treating my bite & I still have tmj..That's the time to treat the tmj.
Both procedures will be using braces & retainers for a long time. Before I pay a high amount & commit myself to a dentist, I really want to make sure which would be the correct procedure..

Hope you guys can help me so please make a reply..

Thanks! :)

I am new to this site. Before treatment begins you should be checked for tmj symptoms. Does it make sense to move teeth without first addressing the joints? That may be asking for blind luck. Seek the advice of a neuromuscular dentist in your area.

You'd better go to india or latvia to treat your teeth. It is much cheaper and more effective. Usually foreigners are treated much better then anyone else, as it creates image for these countries. It is even better to latvia, as I don't trust indian traditional medicine much, though nottraditional is very effective.
