Wisconsin

the wisconsin assembly votes to ban the morning-after pill on state college campuses. That vote came late thursday night.

The bill prohibits university of wisconsin system health centers from advertising, prescribing, or dispensing emergency contraception, like the morning-after pill. The bill now goes to the senate. Supporters say the morning-after pill is comparable to chemical abortion. However, opponents say the bill is unconstitutional. Governor jim doyle says he'll veto the bill if it reaches his desk.

If it becomes law, wisconsin would be the first state in the country to impose such a ban.
