Pregnant?!
Posted: 06-18-05 22:03pm

Hey all, I am just writing to check out all of your knowledge on pregnancy issues. I really really need help fast. Here is my situation.

About 1 and a 1/2 months ago me and my girlfriend had sex unprotected. Obviously I know about safe sex and all, so did she but we didn't have a condom to use and we wanted it. That month her periods were due, she ended up getting them about 3-4 days late off schedule. We both freaked out about it then. She got the periods about 2-3 weeks after we had sex if I can remember correctly.

Since then we have not done it unprotected, we have done it once more but with a condom. We done it on the day she finished her late period. We are both worrying now because she was apparently due to have here periods about 8 days ago. One possibility we have considered is that her last period she had was just he last before she came pregnant or the other possibility is that the condom was unsuccessful.

We are both really frightened about this because we are still teenagers and both of our parents would absolutely kill us if she was pregnant. What are all of your opinions on this? I am really really scared about this, I could not stand living to see the disappointment on her parents faces yet alone mine.

If you do think she is pregnant, is there any possible way to stop the pregnancy before it is too late?

Yeh thanks a lot for all your freakin' help people. This was a really serious and still is a serious matter to myself and my girlfriend. We don't know where to turn and I found here asking for help and get nothing. I might as well end my life or my parents will when they find out if she really is pregnant. My girlfriend is now 18 days late of her period..

Don't listen to taht dude... While she can be pregnant, she could also be stressing about this so much that it throws off her period.

This happened with my gf, she stressed about it so much she put off her period. After takinga pregnancy test (which read neg.) she gets fine and gets it the next day.

Maybe you should get ahome preg test?

And seriously dude (the poster above me) you are a dick... He came for advice.

If shes 18 days late then yes she could be pregnant, however she could be stressing so much that shes totally thrown her cycles off. Has she taken a test? If not then have her take a hpt, if its negative then maybe she'll calm herself down enough for her period to come. But if its negative and within a week she still doesn't get it she should definitely see a docotor. Some women won't get positive hpt results even if they are pregnant so getting a blood test done would be alot more accurate. And if shes not pregnant and still not getting her period it could be something more serious. I'd make a docs appointment. Good luck.

Have you bought her a pregnancy test? Some are effective the first day of missed period.

Ok! Thanks heaps for your helpful replies people, for a bit I thought I was being neglected seeing this thread wasn't replied to for over a week.

Reading the replies and taken into concideration, we bought three hpt's and all showed negative. It relieved us heaps of so much pressure about her being pregnant, but she still has not received her periods. After reading what poohbear said, I am scared that the tests were in-effective now. All three tests showed negative, if she was pregnant they would have shown positive because it has been over 2 months since we had intercourse.

Is there a possibility that the test didn't work? I have also heard from friends and elders that some teenage girls skip their periods occasionally. My good friend (a girl) recently missed her periods (5 weeks late) so I am also thinking that this is happening to my girlfriend.

Should I still be cautious of pregnancy or should I just not stress. I haven't told my girlfriend that she could still be pregnant because I don't want to put any pressure on her.

Any suggestions ?

If you had sex with a condom then I doubt there is anything to worry about, that and considering you took 3 tests that came out negative. However you just never know. I think she should make a doc appointment and get a blood test done that way you'll know for sure. Also like I said in my pervious post it (and I don't want to scare you or your gf but you never know) it could be something more serious and thats why shes skipping her periods. Good luck.

If you're sure you used the hpt properly.. Then you can pretty trust it... It's quite reliable... But the period being 5 weeks late.. May just be irregular period... Since you said she's a teen... A girls period can be irregular for the first 3-5 years... Sometimes a girl can miss her period... But she should see a doctor to get checked... Good luck!! =)

Thank you so much for all of your help people. You have really reassured me that we haven't got much to worry about. I will take her to the doctors to see what exactly is going on. :)
