Tri-nessa Hell/what Is a Girl to Do?
Posted: 06-19-05 12:41pm

Since starting tri-nessa one week ago I have gotten three migraines, one I have right now and i've had it since 6pm yesterday. This is obviously not an option because it's giving me hot flashes and generally making me feel crappy.
I was on the patch before this and quit because it did not stay stuck to me (i am an oily person I guess??) it would fall off no matter where I put it usually by wed. Or thurs.
Before that I was on depo provera for 4 years. I crave those days back. Alot of people (including my best friend) expereinced terrible side effects from depo but it was great for me. I lost weight and was able to keep it down, had tons of evergy and best of all only had to see the nurse every three months. However, because I bounced around the country and from doctor to doctor they overlooked the fact I had been on it so long so I guess i'm a shoe-in for osteoperosis now huh?! I'm surprised I haven't crumbled into nothing since then.
So, I hate the pill, patch, and can't go back on the shot....Does this leave me with only condoms or that nuva ring thing? I hate the idea of having something in me all the time, makes me think it will get infected.
That is my sob story....Maybe I can switch to real ortho tricyclen...How much more expensive is it???

Nuva-ring - Great Option
Posted: 06-20-05 17:46pm

I use the nuva ring and love it!!! I can't feel it at all (pushed back as far as it will go.)

my boyfriend can't feel it either when we're having sex.

And I don't have to change it, but once a month.

I didn't think I would like it, but I had a free trial perscription from their site - nuvaring.Com I think. I tried it and love it!!

If you liked depo but do not want the systemic(whole body) side effects than how about an iud? Mirena iud has the same hormones as depo, but in teeny tiny amounts.

A lot of docs will not insert iud's in women who have not had kids, but most planned parenthood locations will.

Have you considered a mini pill? It is like depo in that it is progestin only, but you must take it at the same time every day.
