I have been having bad throat problems for ages now, just last night I notcied that it got that bad I couldn't breath and I stopped breathing for a short while, is this really anxiety or something else, im really worrired the docters, nurses gp everyone has said that my throat is ok, but its really starting to make me wounder, wot is wrong with me?, am I loosing my mind? Am I just a hyperchrondriac? Has anybody had trouble with their throat, throat cloosing on them? Plz reply

Throat problems are common from stress but allergies to a food may be involved if you have trouble breathing

Go to your doctor and ask for them to do an allergy test. You may find the answer there. It really sounds like you have an allergy more than anything. I have anxiety and at my worst I feel like i'm choking and my chest caves in so I have a hard time breathing, but this doesn't just randomly happen it takes a while for me to get to that point. So my biggest suggestion is asking your doctor for an allergy test.

Best regards

Do your throat closing problems feel like its a muscle?Ive had crazy throat issues for a month that make it so hard to breathe but it feels more like im being strangled from the outside....No dr's have been able to help thus far.Its just a like a huge tightness straight down the outside of my throat.Like my skins too tight or something as strange as that sounds.

When dr's say something is cause of stress it just makes me even more stressed because I want it to stop so much. I always think surely I can will my mind out of it if I managed to somehow bring it on but ive found its not that easy.

Often stress is an excuse doctors use for alot of medical issues-ive found at least-rule out anything of a more serious nature and then you can draw the final conclusion that its stress...

If its stress any valium type med will help a lot by relaxing the throat muscles for a while
stress causes many throat problems such as feeling a lump when none is there and making swallowing difficult

your not alone, my throat closes up, mainly if I feel anxiety also a feeling that theres a lack of oxygen in the air and the more you try to breath for air the more it closes up untill your hyperventilating, the key is to change the subject as soon as you feel that way do something to keep your mind occupied, dont worry its nothing more than worry
