Have a Full Bladder When Going For Ultra Sounds!

I didn't know this but you're supposed to have a full bladder when you go in for ultrasounds....Especially when you're early on. I used the bathroom like right before my ultrasound so instead of checking outside I had to stick this long thing up there and have my ultrasound done like that....Wish I was aware before then....Didn't hurt but was a bit uncormfortable...And made you have to tinkle!

That's what I was told....And if you don't need to have a full bladder they'll let you know....The further along you are chances of having a full bladder for ultrasound is very slim.

If your early they do the internal ultrasound but for the external one, you do need to have a full bladder. If your bladder if full, it will cram everything into one area so that they can view things easier. If your too early they wont be able to see anything from the external and will do an interal ultrasound.

I had both done one time. I was 8 weeks.

They were trying to find where my bleeding was coming from. They had me drink lots of water and did an external one and then they told me to empty my bladder and did an internal one.
