Pain In Bladder/prostate Area-relieved By Urinating/bowel Mv
Posted: 06-21-05 23:17pm

I'm a 61 year old male and for over 3 years have had pain in the bladder/prostate area which is relieved by urinating or having a bowel movement. When I need a bowel movement my pain is much more intense. I've had my prostate removed (they found a small amount of cancer trying to find the cause of my pain but that didn't help).

I've had mri's and colonoscopies (2) and looks into the bladder and nothing found. I continue having the problem. I'm now thinking that maybe simple gravity is causing the problem.

If my lower colon gets bowel built up and it's laying across the bladder then that could be causing the problem but i'm not sure that's possible that they are in that position. When I need to have a bowel movement my bladder seems to have almost no capacity as I have pain with only a teaspoon of urine but the pain is relieved by urination and relieved even more by having a bowel movement.

I'm wondering if a sling around the lower colon and/or bladder, keeping them separate, could be the answer. My docs (i've had many) can't figure it out. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
