morning sickness
Posted: 08-01-03 08:55am

I am a 21 year old female. For the past 2 years I have been sick in my stomach in the morning. I have tried eating breakfast, drinking milk, drinking soda, drinking water, not eating, not drinking anything and it all results in an upset stomach. I sometimes have a headache too. I usually get at least 8 hours of sleep. I don't eat very regularly though. It usually wears off in 2-3 hours. Is there something wrong with me? Should I have some tests taken? The stomach ache is being outwayed by the annoyance of it all. Someone help!

It sounds like a "morning sickness" case to me. Maybe u are pregnant?! Have u done any home pregnancy test?

When I was pregnancy, I was just lilke you, couldnt eat, couldnt sleep or drink...It was horrible..And for me it was worst coz they dont go away for a long time, and I was so sick and weak that I couldnt go to school...And that caused me some bad grades!

I suggest u go checked out and just be sure about this.

I have taken home pregnancy tests and they have all come back negative.

Pregnancies only last 9 months. This "morning sickness" has started two years ago. Even before I was having sex. So I ruled that out. In the past 2 weeks my stomach has been upset on a lot of meals.

Don't know what it could be.

Oh........... My mistake, when I read ur message, I thought it was 2 months...And now I realized it was 2 years!!! Wow....Sorry!

In that case, I think u really better check with a doctor. I never heard of that before.

My mom was kinda like that when she was younger but she had much serious stomache pain, do you have sharp pain in ur upper abs?

It's not sharp pain at all. It's just upset. As if I need to eat something, or something I ate made it upset.

I also had problems with having an upset stomach when I was worried about something. In high school, I used to be sick when I had a big test the next day or a big report to do. More recent, any big decision I have to make or already made.

I can't see that I would be that worried about something for two years though. Plus only in the morning.

The first part of the message that I sent got cut off...

I have the same problem. Sharp pain I would think would be associated with kidney stones. It's not sharp pain at all. It's just upset. As if I need to eat something, or something I ate made it upset.

May I recommend trying to eat protein at night before you go to sleep? See if that helps in the morning.

Another possibility is that you are perhaps getting a little dehydrated. You don't want to drink too much before going to bed (don't want to be getting up to pee all night!), but double check your liquid intake, that you are getting a full 8 glasses of water (or other non-dehydrating drink -- not soda or alcohol, for example) each day and see if that makes a difference.

Good luck!

Hi there,

this might sound like a wierd question but do you smoke? Also what are your eating habits like and what do you eat? I am usually sick in the mornings but I have acid reflux and the acid in my stomach doesn't drain right. After all night of lying down I feel sick in the mornings. I have found ways to control it. Let me know if you want some info.

Keep smiling,
jenn

I do not smoke, jenn. Over the past 2-3 months though, I have been drinking lots and lots of water. On average about 120 oz. Per day. I have been feeling better in the mornings. But the earlier I wake up the worse it is.

Have you visited a gastrologist? Two years is a long time.
Do you actually vomit?
Do you have sinus drainage?
Could you link it to a food(s)?
Is it *every* morning or just most?
Are you stressed out?
Do you have any other symptoms?

Hugs,

My god, 2 years? I wouldn't let it last a few days!! You need to see a specialist right away, this is not healthy. In the meantime, use some gravol to help you sleep and b6 before eating. Prego woman use b6 to help nausea. I've used it, it works.

I've had a lot of stress in the last two years. I moved out of my parents house. I've had problems with my parents, financial troubles, relational, and emotional problems. I would say it was stress, but I am fine when I wake up after 8am. I don't know if my stomach doesn't have time to "digest" stuff, or if my stomach acids just lay in my stomach?? I have tried eating before I go to bed, as much as a whole meal, to as little as a small snack.

Thanks for all your help and advice.

Sick to Stomach In Moring
Posted: 08-02-07 15:07pm

I have had this also for last 3 years or longer. They gave me pills for acid reflux. But I am still getting sick. It is right before I have a bowel movement. I get so sick I have thrown up. I just feel something more has to be wrong to get this sick and only in mornings. Something isn't right. There has to be someone out there that knows whats going on. It is awful.

This Is So Me Too!

I've been having this "morning sickness" on and off, since I was little and its always when I wake up early in the mornings (around 7-9am.) The symptoms go away by lunchtime, but its so awful that I wish I knew what it was. In high school, I missed quite a bit of school for this and the doctors did test after test, and never found anything. We finally gave up on it.

The drs. thought for awhile that i may have acid reflux, so i was given meds for that, and it didnt help any. Yeah, I agree...this HAS to be SOMETHING! (I've been pregnant before and this is not morning sickness and I've never smoked marijuana...there was another post that said one of the causes may be from smoking marijuana).
