What Is This Weird "sound" In My Head Posted: 06-29-05 13:37pm
I am looking for information anyone might
have related to this very frightening new
problem I have. It started one night
about a month ago as I tried to go to
sleep. I was without ultram that night
due to a mistake by the pharmacy. I take
this medication on a daily basis. As I
tried to fall asleep, I would hear a very
loud pop inside my head. I would jump
awake, startled. Nothing like this had
ever happened before. I concluded that it
must be either a reaction to not having my
medication, or a myoclonic jerk. I didn't
experience the problem again until last
week. This time I was sitting at work -
not asleep or trying to go to sleep, and I
had my medicine - when again I hear a very
loud pop inside my head. It was as
startling then as it was the first time I
experienced it. But this time, when it
happened I also felt like an electrical
current was running through my body and my
vision dimmed. It was all over in a
second, but was quite frightening. I
decided it must be stress. Despite all my
best efforts, it keeps happening on a
daily basis. It's never the same time
each day. I can't identify a medication
that seems to be causing it. I haven't
changed anything about my schedule or
diet. Now it's beginning to happen
multiple times per day. I have a long
medical history including hypothyroid, and
damage to ureters from past surgeries for
endometriosis. I am also having problems
with flushing, almost constant low grade
fever, numbness and tingling in my hands
and feet, profuse sweating for no apparent
reason, a need to constantly swallow and
headaches. My gp, I feel, is convinced
i'm psychotic. I know it sounds bizarre
to complain about such unrelated symptoms,
but they are happening. I am on the verge
of believing my gp must be correct, but
thought I might reach out to some medical
forums before I go there. I had a similar
problem earlier in life with my
endometriosis. My doctors had no clue and
told me I was crazy. I found great help
in an online forum that eventually led me
to the top endo doc. In the country. I'm
hoping for the same here. Please help.

I just started having them about 2 months
ago. Just before I go to sleep my whole
body jumps off the bed at one time.
Today, trying to take a quick nap, I was
lying there and my body jump with this
loud pop inside my head. I was scared to
move at first, but I am OK, thank God!!

Clicking in Head Posted: 03-15-08 12:46pm
Its happens to me too, i get this constant
clicking sound in my head, it dont hurt me
but is very scary and annoying, also it
seems louder when i have a headache i am
in chronic pain in other parts of my body,
and this all started with the noise in my
head when i started taking pain meds, I
dont know what it is either' but its very
scary, when something is going on in your
head, i think something is very wrong
going crazy!!! but Doc says thats not the
case, lots of things can happen in your
head when you have problems with other
parts of your body, including (stress'
nerves" depression, so i hope thats what
it is and not anything more serious, i got
to thinking it may have been a tumor or
brain emmorrage coming, that makes it
worse when your thinking the worse to, i
have crumbling discs at back of neck, and
i am in constant pain, but this clicking
noise in my head can overtake all the
pain, it causes me to worry about it and
that leads to other things like anxiety, i
wish i could give you some advice
'Justdionne but at least your not alone
and we are not going 'crazy !

TMJ? a theory Posted: 03-23-08 10:28am
Do you grind your teeth (and not know it)
or clench your jaw often. See a dentist
for TMJ. I have it, the popping is your
jaw popping.

I have been suffering with migranes that
start at the right side of the top of my
head. I also hear a popping sound on the
right side of my head along with it being
difficult to turn my head. I have seen a
doctor and she placed me on medicine for a
sinus infection alon with pain pills. I
am really worried, should I ask for an
MRI? Can you please help me!
