for about a month now I have noticed the
vein on my left side gets swollen at times
especially when the scrotum hangs lower in
a warm day but not so much when the
scrotum is bunched up in a nice
air-conditioned building. When the
swelling is really bad I could feel a bit
of discomfort on the left side as if
someone was squishing my left testicle too
hard. Both my doctor and myself could
see the lumpy "bag of worms" appearance
and feel the veins in the left side being
a lot thicker than the right.
However the ultrasound showed everything
to be normal. I have heard that the
ultrasound procedure to detect varicocele
is sometimes performed when the patient is
standing up but my procedure was done with
me lying on my back. Would this have
affected the ultrasonography results?
If anyone had experiences with varicocele
it would be great for I could hear your
experiences too. How did things look
and, less documented issue of how did
things feel?
I am in a bit of distress because the vein
definitely feel different than before but
for a month now and many visits we still
could not pin point the problem. The
doctor is starting to be convinced that
it's normal...
Thanks for any help and shared
experiences,

Anyone with ultrasound experience at
least? Were you standing up for lying
down when it was done?
Thanks,

I posted on doctor's lounge too, please
refer to the post for more info:
i have also heard about microscope
assisted surgery but don't know much about
it personally.
Good luck,
I to have had the
ultra sound and had it lying down. I
have also seen to Dr. About it. They
had both said that there is no concern
unless it causes you to have pain are
reproductive problems. Both had also
said that their are two ways to fix the
problem. One is the microscope surgery
and was said to be relatively pain less.
The other was some kind of radiation
treatments. That he did not go into
detail with
