I've heard that women of child bearing age
as well as young children should not be
near people who are undergoing radiation
therapy...fact or fallacy? I'm
visiting a family member with my 3 1/2
year old child. They will be finishing
with radiation therapy around the time I
arrive. If this scenario is true...what
precautions should be taken?
Thanks!

The real danger can be to the person
taking yhe radiation. Chemo &
radiation can break your immune system
down & cause you to catch anything.
If either you or your daughter has had
anykind of sickness in the past 2 weeks I
would not go see the person. There is
also some specific kinds of radiation that
can be harmful to the people around you.
You can ask them what kind and if their
Dr. Give them anykind of precautions.
Hope your person gets well.
