Mood Swings
Posted: 07-01-05 10:40am

Hi,

i know that I don't have bipolar depression, but I have been recently experiencing severe mood swings. I'm posting here because I wasn't sure where to post my concerns.

This is the worst yet. My husband and I had a tiff this morning in the car ride to work and I just cried a little. But let me tell you that my husband is the most caring, the most loving, the most lovable and wonderful person you'll ever meet. I absolutely love him with all my heart.

But here is the problem, my mood swings, especially around my cycles are just getting out of control. I don't know what to do or how to take care of it. I can't even fake being happy. My mood is just, depressed. I don't feel like seeing anyone, being around anyone. I just feel like being in my bed, snuggled up and laying with my two puppies.

What can I do? Do you think I might need a therapist or is there medicine out there that would help me with my severe mood swings?

Thanks!

Smile, talk to your doc. Depression and mood swings are normal to some extent around your cycle. But it sounds like yours are a bit extreme. Get some medical advise, I know they have meds that can help. Just don't know what they are

If I was you I get some medical advice/help. Please know that depression and mood swings are normal for people. But when they become long and interfer(sp?) with work, family, friends, relationships etc.
Is when it's time to seek help. Does your cycle go depression to normal, to depression to normal. It could be that you are unipolar but i'm no medical doctor. Best thing to do is to talk to a md doctor.
