I got thrush when I was 16 and visited an
std clinic where I was given some sort of
tablets. They seemed to work for a while
then I got it back. So I went back and
they asked was I using perfumed toiletries
to clean down there and and I stopped
using them. So then it goes and after
masturbating it comes back. I use
canesten antifungal cream and it seems to
hold it at bay but when I masturbate again
or have sex with my girlfriend it comes
back. I have tried almost everything from
using aqueous cream to clean myself to not
eating marmite! I am now 26 with a
pregnant girlfriend and am refusing to
have sex with her because i`m terrified I
will pass it on to the baby. I have had
nsu before (non-specific-urethritis) and
that was sorted or so I thought. The
symptoms are after masturbating or sex the
penis becomes quite red and slightly sore
and if there is any further friction it
then has a slight odour to it. I have
tried going without sex or masturbating
for a month while rigidly using canesten
cream and maintaining good hygeine etc
etc. Yet this problem still comes back, I
am totally at my wits end and feel like I
will never be rid of this affliction. My
girlfriends midwife reckons I might have a
viral infection that for men is very hard
to shake off. Can anyone please help? My
girlfriend was recently treated for thrush
but was all clear on all other stds.

Like u I have suffered from thrush for
about 10 years im 37 married 2 kids under
4 and find that using vasoline on my penis
and foreskin every day afer washing even
with soap(i use dove as it doesnt cause
any problems)it keeps the thrush at bay
after sex I wash my penis and apply
vasoline and before I masterbate I make
sure theres vasoline on my penis and
afterwards I wash and reapply the vasoline
this works for me and I have not had any
outbreaks other than if I dont use
vasoline I will get a really bad reaction
my foreskin will show the usual systoms
but using vasoline straigh away and
washing then applying vasoline will cure
me within about 2 days I hope this is of
some help

My boyfreind suffers from the same problem
he is 28 and we have been together for
over 6 years now and he has always had a
problem, when its sore his foreskin gets
very tight and wont go back.
When we were first together we just put it
down to to much sex as you would but now 6
years later its much worse.
He had what seemed to be thrush before
christmas, after christmas and after
having no sex for wo weeks it was no
better so he went to the dotors who told
him it was thrush but it wasnt getting
better as without knowing it I probably
had it to without any symtoms so we were
passing it back to each other, so he gave
him some canneston cream. This helped a
little but he now is having real trouble
getting an erection, he gets one but only
semi so you cant have sex.. This is an on
going problem and find it hard to belive
its just a case of thrush can anyone help?
