I have recently had a vulvar biopsy. My
physician instructed me to use Neosporin
2x daily and didn't give me an antibiotic.
I have been itching, VERY sore, swollen
and the entire area has been "weeping" for
a week. It was so bad that I went to the
doctor and was re-examined. He stated I
was fine. I don't feel fine. It hurts to
use the bathroom.
Can anyone offer me insight to what's
going on with my body?

After any genital biopsy, there's going to
be some effects on the urine such as
dysuria (which you seem to be
experiencing), which in this case should
only be temporary.
I'm curious as to what your vulva was
diagnosed with. Did the doctor diagnose
you with anything like vulvitis, or
vulvovaginitis? He should've diagnosed
you with something or else a biopsy
shouldn't have been needed. If he
specifically diagnosed you with nothing,
then there's no cause for worry.
Either way, I'm guessing it'll just take
time to heal. If not, then appeal
strongly to your doctor that your symptoms
prove you to need more medical attention,
even if he says you "should" be okay. But
I'm pretty sure that time is the healer of
these effects of this sort of biopsy.
You said you were told to take neosporin
eh? I'm thinking that maybe Aloe Vera
would be best. Just a suggestion. Get
well!
