My dad had a knee replacment on 4/22/03
and now has a terrible infection
throughtout the site of incission as well
as a trail running down his legg and odd
black and blue marks. Firstly did anyone
else have such an infection. Also I was
just told tha tthis week on one of the
news shows they talked about a defect in a
knee replacement that was caused by an oil
leakage and caused an infection. Does
anyone have information on that topic?

Good luck to your dad. My husband has
had 2 joint replacements and is in
incredible pain. I am searching for
information on the tv program recently
aired (i thought it was the week of july
17 but could be wrong). Several people
with knee and hip replacements were
unhappy with the manufacturer.
If anyone has information on this tv
program, please let me know as soon as

hi there, I too saw the film and it was
dateline just 4 weeks ago, and at the time
I was just 3 weeks post of total hip
replacement . The doctors in our area
stopped using that particular brand, I
just thought what a bad thng for me to
watch ........Wow,,,,,,,but, I am doing so

Do an internet search on "sulzer
litigation" you will find out most of what
you need to know. Ask the hospital for
your dad's operative reports and the or
report shoud have a label from his
prosthesis with the brand and serial
number. You can then search the fda
recall products for his joint
and find out if the company has had
trouble with any of its products.
