Bf Had Head Injury Years Ago, His Memory Is Not Good And.. Posted: 07-07-05 09:50am
My ex bf was a victim of a crime years
ago, he got his head bashed against the
toilet and the side of the tub several
times
(hard surfaces)
his memory was very weak, but I loved him
so much, I just accepted that he could not
help it, and dealt with it, thought when
he asked me the 3 or 4 th time, I became
emotionally exhauseted over a period of
time
he remembers all the rules of the road,
appts. Usually,etc
but if he asks me something, about what is
in the fridge, or where I got an article
of clothing, of he claims he never seen
this or that in the house beffore, and if
I said, I told you, he got so adament,
that he was right and I was the crazy
one.
He has little impulse control, when he
gets angry, it is over the top, he is in
his forties and acts like a teenager or
younger when upset
he can be an up and down emotional basket
case, crying like a 4 year old
hysterically, snot coming out of his nose,
and 20 mintues later talking about
poiitics, science, a reallly super
intellligent guy he can be
yet I became embarrassed and sometimes
fearful when he would fly off the handle,
one time I thought he was a real looney,
if I did not know him, I would run like
the wind from him
but his anger was toward someone else, so
I let it go
i am sorry I am wriiting a book, I guess I
am still upset...
What can having your head being slammed
against really hard surfaces repeatedly do
to one's personality?
Thanks,
