...To use a hpt. I don't want to waste a
hpt when af isn't due for a week, but I do
need to know as soon as possible whether
i'm pregnant or not.
Hpts say as early as 4 days before your
missed period. My understanding is that
is based on a guess of when implantation
would have taken place. I ask this
because I had some pink spotting this
weekend, which matches many women's
description of implantation bleeding.
Which would have put implantation at 2-3
days ago (surely enough time for hcg to
start to show up, right?).
I have also had a number of symptoms.
Nausea.
Fatigue.
Back/side aches.
Mild pms-type cramping.
Mood swings.
Blue veins prominent on my breasts.
Itchy breasts.
Now, any of these things can be explained
by other things. However, the bleeding
and all of them together a whole week
before my period, when I don't usually
have many pms symptoms, I am
wondering/worried that i'm pregnant. Is
it silly for me to go ahead and take a hpt
tomorrow, or should I wait until the
weekend for the 4 days prior?
Under any other circumstances, I wouldn't
worry too much, and just wait until I was
late, but the timing here makes surety of
the essence. Also, the timing of the
bleeding and the timing of the last time I
had sex is what leads me to believe that
it may be implanation bleeding.
I got 2 tests for $7, so it's not that
much money wasted, but i'd still rather
not waste too much on tests right now,
especially since i'm really not sure what
I want the result to be yet.

If I were you i'd wait until a few days
before your period is due and then test
with first response (supposidly its one of
the better hpt) that way if its negative
and your period doesnt' come within a week
after testing you can test again just to
make sure. Good luck.

Yeah ild say go with a first response one
that can be used up to 3-4 days before a
missed period.. And they are so good!!!

Well, I suppose my question is now moot,
unless my body is royally playing tricks
on me.
On monday, I decided that instead of
taking chances, I was going to stop my bc
pills (if I wasn't already pregnant, it
wouldn't matter anyway, since my fiance
and I just broke up - not planning on
having sex any time soon). I'm on a
sunday start, and I took the first pill of
my third week, so I have now skipped 4
pills. On wednesday, I started having
what originally looked like the spotting
that I had on sunday, which has now turned
into what looks more like an actual
period. It's gone on for two days,
and it mostly older blood and tissue.
So, it looks as though my stopping my pill
has induced my period a week early. I
took a test this morning just in case, and
it came out negative.
If I was pregnant, I wasn't pregnant for
long enough for it to register on a test.
If I wasn't, I just bought myself an
early period. It's not possible that
stopping my pills could have triggered a
period (and thereby an early miscarriage)
even if I was just barely pregnant, is
it?
Either way, now I can spend more time
focusing on dealing with my broken heart,
and hoping that things work out for us
after some of his stress goes away.
Stupid cold feet... But that's a post
for a different forum. ;)
