Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here, just
found ya'll. I am 23 and have suffered
from anxiety since I was in 5th grade. I
consider myself as having pretty bad
anxiety, i'm always worried or nervous.
I'm not on any medication. The thing is
recently i'd say the past year i've been
getting facial spasm on teh right side of
my face. In only happens when i'm
talking to someone. I mean it could be
my boyfriend ! It usually happens when
i'm having a conversation with someone or
a group of people and i'm telling a story
or for some reason i'm the main focus.
It doesn't last long at all its just a
twitch and then its done but its so
annoying and embarassing!! Its getting
more frequent!
Is this caused from just being so
anxious?? Someone help! :)
thank you!!

Hi!
I've been having worse problems than
urs but i've never been anxious before in
my life. If u want a summary of my
symptoms, please read the topic 'anybody
with partial facial weakness'. I'm not
some sort of a doctor, but ur case is
really nothing to worry about. U must
realize the connection between ur mind and
body here. Muscle twitches, especially
facial, indicate muscle weakness and
propably nerve weakness. But ur case
seems normal. Judging from ur history, I
deduce that it is not often that u use ure
face for laughing! Am I right? The
mucles have a strange way. They'l have
improved tone and strength the more u use
it. U say that u feel the twitches when u
r talking to some one. It may be cause ur
brain is trying to tell the facial muscles
to act fast in response to the emotional
situation but ur muscles are too weak do
do that efficiently, so it results in
spasms. I think ur solution lies in
laughing as much as possible and not
paying attention to the twitches. Believe
me if u think too much about it, u'll get
so depressed that the symptoms will
increase. It is usually the very cause of
many facial droopiness. But first things
first, try to go to an ent specialist.
They're given special training in facial
problems. But i'm sure u wont need it.
Feel free to msg me any time. Goodluck
