Acne and working out? Posted: 07-27-03 20:19pm
As an avid bodybuilder, I've noticed that
my back and shoulders have trafficked some
acne. Could bodybuilding be the cause?
I take minocin (an antibiotic), cleocin
pledgets, and retin-A for my acne problem,
which has been working very well over the
years- well, for my face, that is.
Keep in mind that I am a senior in high
school.

i used to be on minocin......got off that
stuff pretty quick. sure it worked, but
it made my skin sooo sensitive to the sun,
even when i wore "waterbabies 45" on my
skin, i got second degree burns from the
sun (ad i live in CANADA!!). instead of
risking skin cancer, i tried using tea
tree oil, and i have found that to be the
best remedy thus far. a dab on the zit,
and it starts to dry up right away, i
always notice a diff by the follwoing
morning.

Don't worry bud. Amino acids don't hurt
the skin.

Shoulder And Back Acne Posted: 10-04-03 19:53pm
I don't think it will go away unless you
put those meds on you back and shoulders
too - which can really start costing a
heck of a lot. I'm on accutane. I was
tired of putting stuff on all the time -
and if you ever stop putting it on, it
comes back. Accutane makes it
permanently go away. It's not right for
everyone, but you may want to talk to your
dermatologist about it. Maybe heavy
sweating could be aggrivating it.

Accutane Posted: 12-02-03 19:27pm
Don't assume that accutane will make your
acne go away. I thought the same thing,
but it didn't completely clear it up. My
acne really wasnt all that bad to start
with either.
Don't look at accutane as a permanent
cure. In my case all it did was get it
under control so now my topical products
work better.
