Is it ok to sleep on my stomach while pregnant? I realize if it's ok I won't be able to for too much longer, but for the time being I want to make sure i'm not doing any damage. Thanks all!! :)

Im starting to feel a bit like that, almost like my lower stomach is starting to get in the way,

im pretty sure that you can sleep on your stomach for as long as it is comfortable.
Thats what I read.

Now I have a question.

I never seem to remember that people say you should lay on your back when pregnant.
But I always seem to do it to watch tv from bed.

Why do I always feel cramps when I lay on my back, and everytime I do cramp, why does my stomach go hard?

Its weird. But it doesn't hurt

Hey sxcgirl
so far my tummy isn't getting in the way, but it's only a matter of time until it does. I'm only 7 weeks. How far along are you? I haven't heard anything about not being able to lay on you back, I think it's ok...Like you said as long as it's comfortable. I do the same thing I prop myself up in bed (but still kinda layin' down) to watch tv from my bed. When it's this hot out I just stay upstairs in my room and veg! I'm from wisconsin so it's real hot out right now, and dry! It makes me even more moody! Lol my poor husband.
Also, I think your stomach goes hard from cramps because it's the muscle tightening up...Just a thought tho, i'm not for sure. It just makes sense to me. I've also heard of some sort of contractions that happen throughout pregnancy....Some sort of thing called braxton contractions. I haven't had many cramps. Once in awhile I get up to fast or move wrong and my stomach catches and boy it doesn't feel good. Hope it helped some.

When you girls get further along you won't be able to sleep on your stomach or your back. When you sleep on your back the baby cuts off circulation to itself by laying hard on its cord. And other organs in your body. You will find that when your huge..The only comfortable position will be on your side with pillows between your legs..

Have a blast

Hopefulmjz,
the contractions you are talking are called braxton hicks.....They are nothing.....I think they are caused from stress.....At least thats what my mom always says
