Well I Need Some Advice.
Posted: 07-16-05 07:44am

Hello. Well to start off, I am 15. I will be 16 in october. I have been with my boyfriend for 10 months, and I was on the depo-provera birth control shot, I took 3 shots but when I was supposed to get my 4th shot I decided to get off of it (because of excessive weight gain, depression, ect.) well, this was on june 8th. I had always heard, and been told, that you wouldn't get pregnant until after your period returned, and you would be fertile again. So...Thinking that, on june 23rd, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. A few days after that, I had very light spotting. A week to a week and a half later, for 4 days I didn't really feel "up to" eatting. Well, today is july 16th, and for the past 4 days, my nipples have been extremly sore and painful, kind of like a burning sensation, but at times they feel numb. My period still hasn't returned, and I have been feeling "sluggish" and tired lately aswell. Sometime within the next few days if the tenderness doesn't go away I will be picking up an at(in)-home-pregnancy test. But any advice until then would be great. And if any of you have been on this shot, could you please inform me how long it took you to get your period back? Any advice is greatly appreciated...And I did not post on here to get extremly negative feed back, just advice.

And a little on my background information:
i am 15, (as I stated above; soon to be 16). I am homeschooled, and proudly in 12th grade. I plan on getting a job as soon as I turn 16; because I cannot get a job until then because of the laws. For about the past year, I have thought about pregnancy. I am a stay-at-home kind of girl, i'm not in the "partying" crowd. And I would devote my life to a baby. I was in a car accident last september, and from that I have a pretty good amount of money to start life out with. No, not enough to raise a loving baby; but with my devotion I would make it through. Since i'm ready to work as of now, even without knowing I am pregnant. So please, don't tell me i'm "ignorant" or "selfish" as I have seen on other posts'.

Thanks alot,
christa.

Hey christa.. Well. I can't help you with the shot information..Because I wasn't on the shot or pill.. But I can tell you that.. Your best bet is to get a hpt ... Sometimes your body will give you mixed feelings.. If you've been stressing weither or not your pregnant.. And you'll get "false symptoms" and sometimes .. There not false symptoms and you really are pregnant.. Just relax and get a hpt.. And then depending on the results go from there.. Like .. If it's negative and you still don't feel right.. Talk to your doctor about it.. And if it's positive .. Definatly call your doctor for a confirmation test .. To make sure.. I know it's going to be tough.. I'de know. I'm 17 and 15 and half weeks pregnant.. Sure it's exciting.. But i'de much rather be older.. But I still love my baby.. :d ... Well good luck and keep me posted

You could be prego, but going off from depo really messes with your body, I was on it for 6years and when I went off it I had to wait a year for my period and I was sick for a long time, ive actually been on meds because they screwed my body up soo much. Good luck, I would go to doctor :)

I was on depo for a while and I still sometimes feel the effects from the shot even after being off of it for 8 months. It could still be the depo that is making you feel this way. Take an hpt to make sure, it could go either way. Good luck!

Well i'm not pregnant, and I still haven't gotten my period back. Im sorry it took me so long to update on this, but I was having computer problems. I never thought I would say this but I will be glad I get my period back whenever it happens...I will never use any form of bc that can screw my body up this much again. Now i'm worried that I will never be able to have babies in the future...But hopefully that doesn't happen and I can produce my little youngins' because I would love to have a little baby...One day. But thanks for all of the replies/posts.
