I do believe stress can cause acne-i am a
walking example. After leaving a city I
did not want to after six months I
returned home so stressed. I cannot tell
you how bad my face got-stress plays such
a role with our bodies..Heart attacks,
strokes..I then learned cover girl
make-up is terrible for the skin..Almay is
the best if you have sensitive skin. I
cut out a lot from my diet and my skin,
thank god, is flawless.......

You can also try shea butter to help acne
scars, but the best is to use raw shea
butter you won't be too fond of the smell
but i've heard from some that it works

Hey, I have tried eveything that everyone
says works and nothing has cleared up my
acne. My acne may get a little lighter
but that is all that will happen. My mom
is 50 and she still gets acne so I highly
believe that it is in the family.
However, one of my sisters had horrendous
acne but when she had her first kid it
totally cleared up. Nothing like that
has happened to my other sister though who
has acne just as bad as me or my other
sister. I have a younger brother and he
also has acne very bad. The only one of
my siblings that doesn't have acne is my
13 yr old sister and she just started her
period so I have a feeling that she will
be getting it soon since that is when all
of our started.
I have resigned myeslf to just trying to
get acne as minimal as possible and living
with it :?
Btw, non of us have scarred which is the
weird thing.

Just a sugestion but if your skin is
really bad why dont you try going on a
light medication?? My brother went on it
last year and it completely cleared it up
and never came back. Worth a try!!!

Why What You Are Not Eating May Cause Acne Posted: 10-10-06 04:00am
While research certainly indicates that
the presence of certain items within the
western diet may very well lead to the
high incidence of acne among western
populations, other studies indicate the
absence of certain items in the western
diet may also contribute to high acne
incidences.
Interesting, heh?

Food doesn't bear any major connection but
some with acne have problems with animal
fats

One thing I have found about my acne is
that it gets worse when it is cold out.
When it is hot out in the summer (90
degrees) and I am sweating, my acne always
clears up. I believe it pushes the oils
out of the pores and it makes it clear up.
In the winter when it is cold out my
acne always gets worse. I guess the
pores fill up with oil and close up from
the cold and I always break out.
So cleaning your face does help,
overcleaning however will make it worse.

Ance Myths Posted: 01-15-07 17:32pm
First of all, I have suffered with acne
since I was 12 years old. I am now 23. I
have always been hygenic, not over washing
or under washing, and I am healthy
person. When I was between 15 and 17
years old, I started to get more severe
ance, which I whole-heartedly believe was
caused by hormones. I unfortunately have
ance scars (look like little
indentions)from that time period, and they
have never gone away although I have tried
millions of things short of going to a
dermatologist.( not all people can afford
to see a dermatologist and I happen to be
one of the people of the working-class
that can't do so.)
anyway, it hurts to hear people like you
say that ance can go away by being healthy
and clean, as if those of us unfortunate
enough to have ance are dirty, lazy slobs!
How dare people like you insinuate such
things! You don't know the agony that I
go through everyday having to face people
with my mild ance now and the scars that I
think will never go away. Scars that make
me feel like I am not myself and will
never again have the potential of being as
beautiful as I could have been. Maybe you
should consider this problem from all
sides, and not think that it is so simple.

a conventional md will tell you that
stress and diet do not cause acne, but
they can. Acne is caused by the over
production of oil or sebum. Coenzyme-a is
a crucial component in the metabolism of
fats. It is also crucial to the krebs
cyle. So people become deficient of the
enzyme because of heredity or heavy strain
on the sexual or adrenal organs. Your
body gives priority to sexual organs when
it comes to distributing coenzyme-a, so if
there is not enough for other processess,
the body can oil or sebum out of the skin
because it was not able to metabolize it.
If I didnt explain that well look up b5
and acne...The truth is doctors make to
much money from prescriptions to let
people no about natural remedies. I had
the clearest skin until my senior year,
that happend to be the first time I
started to masterbate, didnt know why
then, but my skin got progressively worse,
I took tetracycline and used murad, as
well as proactive nothing work. With
proactive my skin did clear up for a while
but it always returned. My skin was
extremly oily. I take b5 to treat my
acne. Many will try to sell for 45$ and
such but you can find b5 200cap 500mg for
around 9$ online. All things can be cured
naturally, the trillion dollar drug
industry doesnt care for you to be cured
only treated

I feel weird mentioning this now. I
started having acne when I was roughly in
grade 4. I am a male and have too many
hormones, I always blamed acne on my
hormones. I dont get scars but I do get
blood pockets remaining which I have to
cut open and bleed to reduce the redding.
My acne does get worse in the winter. In
the summer when Im outside and tan the sun
dries out my skin more, which in turn
seems to help get rid of the blackheads
and alot of the acne. I just started using
a tanning bed to help get rid of acne. I
know about the risks and skin cancer ect
ect. But I have noticed you cant see my
acne so much, Im 17 now and acne runs in
my family, my dad still has horrible scars
all over his back. I got it worse all over
my chest and back and face and neck, even
moved down to parts of my legs. I am very
active and eat properly and take viatems
and mineral pills along with garlic and
Omega3 acids. I have also heard Omega3's
are very good to help clear skin.
Wondering if anyone else has heard of
that. I also have tried the sauna and
showering right after, suppose to sweat
out the toxins in your body, follow
immediatly with a shower to clean your
skin and it helps a little. My mom always
says that whats on the skin is a sign of
what is going on inside. I dont know if I
completly believe this but she seems
pretty sure of it.

people I see have been saying they've
tried everything. I just found out acouple
days ago by another thread, that remedies
such as toothpaste with flouride can
reduce size and redness...clearing it up
to a minimum. may as well vary from each
individual.
My wife suffered from acne for decades,
Dermatologist prescribed dangerous meds
for years that did not help to any great
degree.
Through metabolic testing she was
determined to be a pyrole excretor, which
means she needs more vitamin B6, C, and
zinc in her diet than an ordinary person.
After supplementing with these nutrients
and eliminating sugar from her diet, her
acne resolved completely.
Hope this helps!

Alsaskin.com is not the greatest web site
but the description of skin types and
related products has enabled me to
identify the best products for my skin.
The fact that the products are all natural
(check the ingredients – very good and
well researched!) gives me peace of mind
about what I am using daily on my skin.

I find that "you are what you eat". I
used to drink soda like it was water. I
could actually feel cyst growing as I
drank soda, but didn't stop cuz my
dermatologist told me food has nothign to
do with acne, which i find VERY hard to
believe now. How can a doctor who has
never suffered from acne IN HER LIFE know
that food doesn't affect acne. Hell yeah
it does! Well for me at least. I dropped
sugar out of my diet completely, and my
face is clearing!
I totally lost respect for all
dermatologists, cuz they all say food does
not affect acne, when for me FOOD WAS THE
REASON!

5 tips for acne treatment
1- A bad diet is proven to cause acne, so
sticking to a well balanced diet will
certainly help clear up or prevent acne.
Garlic and onions can be particularly
helpful because these contain sulphur.
Drinking lots of purified water can also
be very effective, rehydrating the skin
and improving your glands.
2- As well as a healthy diet and lots of
water there are also vitamin and
nutritional supplements you can take that
will also assist in beating acne. Vitamins
A, C and E are particularly helpful and
combining these with zinc orotate is sure
to have an effect.
3- Be careful about which moisturizers and
cleaners you use on your skin. If you
already suffer from acne this is
especially important. Choose a mild
cleanser and apply it twice a day to the
acne infected areas. There are several
specialist cleansers ideally suited to
this task.
4- Be careful what you are subjecting your
skin to. Perfumes, moisturizers and even
some soap can flare up a reaction from
your acne. Make sure you select products
that are suited to your skin type and
don't overdo the amount you use. Washing
your face too often can actually irritate
your acne and you should only do so twice
a day.
5- Tempting though it may be you should
try to avoid squeezing and picking. This
can result in open sores that can easily
become infected. By picking acne there is
a good chance you will make it last
longer. Ordinarily you can expect an acne
pimple to last a week or more.

I've used this fantastic stuff in a little
glass pump jar by palmer's the people who
make that cocoa butter. Its a really thick
gell that u rub in 4times a day or
something like that and really works, i
used it for a massive scar on my arm,
while it didnt reduce it totally it
deffinatly make big difference i had
people commenting on how much it'd gone
down.
I don't know hoe good this is for your
face though especially if u have acne, i
have it mildly and have been putting it on
wen i remember but the thing is it leaves
a really shiney layer so not so good if u
have to go out lol.

gets worst and soon as they start cleaning
the key board after or before using it
again their face improve, if because they
touch their face with the bacterias form

I used to have really bad acne as well.
Then I lost 65lbs and it got alot better.
I wasnt satisfied because I was still
having frequent breakouts. I started to
drink alot of water, take a daily vitamin
and I used ProActiv. I was scared to use
the ProActiv, but it actually worked
really well. I have been using it for 3
years religiously. People with fair skin
shouldnt use it though. Maybe you have a
hormone imbalance that is causing the
acne??? How about trying Yaz or another
type of birth control pill that helps with
acne???
