Has Anyone Tried Other Methods to Alkalize the Body? Posted: 07-18-05 13:26pm
I've had gout for 12 years. I have been
reasonably successful in controlling
attacks by use of daily allopurinol. As
I get older I have found that my serum
uric acid levels are not in the same
controlled level with the same dosage of
allopurinol. I have recently had a bad
gout attack that became more of a chronic
problem in my foot. I just tried the bs
for three days and it seems to have
helped. Problem is that my blood
pressure is now elevated ( I also have
hypertension). It seems to me that
alkalizing your body is what is important.
I have just begun to researching other
ways to alkalize the body other than bs
because of my high bp. I have read about
japanese machines used to charge water and
drops that you put into water to make more
alkaline. These people claim that it may
cure many diseases including high bp,
arthritis, and psoriasis. Does anyone
have any experience with these techniques
or any other besides bs to alkalize the
body?

Cost Effective... Posted: 01-09-06 18:46pm
I'd say that arm & hammer baking soda
is the most cost effective way to alkalize
yourself. To be sure, there are other
ways but using baking soda is cheap and
easy.

Natural Way to Balance Ph Posted: 11-29-06 02:07am
The body ph should be balanced, and the
ideal is 7.3. The food intake is 70%
alkaline (ex. Green vegetables) and 30 %
acid (ex. Red meat). I test my ph
with the test stripes. I am taking
miracle greens and ph drops as well to
help alkalyse my ph, that you can buy in
the health stores. To control my gout, I
take two capsules of gout chi, a chinese
herbal remedy I bought online. All
natural, no side effects. I test my
serum uric acid at home, I bought a device
- uasure - and I monitor my uric acid. I
tried bs, but I don't want to increase my
bp. So far, I don't have any gout attack
in two months.

Things I've Tried... Posted: 12-09-06 15:14pm
These are in no particular order.
Apple cider vinegar. Mixed maybe one
shot glass to a 12 ounce glass of water.
Taste is horrid but it seems to work.
Seems to help with congested head as well
as phlegm.
Club soda. This works well. The issue
is price. Having 2 1 liter jugs a day
amounts to many dollars over a month.
Also good for getting out clothes
stains.
Baking soda. Easily the cheapest. On
box costs under a dollar and lasts for 3
months. I use about 1/2 teaspoon in the
am and again when I get home. Taste is
bad but I mix with maybe 3 ounces of water
and just gulp it. To be sure it will
raise blood pressure but when you look at
the amount of salt in a mcdonald's #3
combo the amount is a small fraction.
I will concede that eating a low purine
diet helps a lot. For myself I
voluntarily gave up paenut products and
shrimp. I should probably eat more
greens.
