I have been trying to lose weight and have
been on the isagenix plan for 4 weeks now.
My calorie intake is between 900 and 1200
calories a day. I have only dropped 4
lbs. I also have been experiencing
considerable hair loss and my skin has
been extremely dry. I am more worried
about the hair loss than anything. It's
not just a few strands it's 40 to 60
strands a day. My doctor has checked my
thyroid and says it is at 3.2 to 3.5.
What can be causing this and is the weight
loss related to the hair loss and
extremely dry skin?

Well first of all have you just had a
baby, if that is the case it is normal to
have thinning hair and hair loss after a
baby is born, and it is common to lose 100
strands per day. Hope that some of this
information has helped

I lost hair by the handfuls after I had my
baby. The doctor told me that it was due
to the sudden change in hormones. Also,
if you are nursing you should still take
the prenatal vitamins. Vitamin
deficiences can cause brittle hair and dry
skin. I have very long hair so when it
fell out I am sure that it seemed as
though I was going bald by the amount.
How long has it been since you had your
baby?

I have a hypo active thyroid and my
symptoms before I was diagnosted were the
same. Next time you have blood work done
have the doctor check you t3, and t4
levels, as these play a huge contribution
to the thyroid. Also how much do you
weigh and how tall are you? It is
possible you are not taking in enough
calories. This could be why you are not
losing weight. A good way to find how
many calories you should intake is to
multiply your weight by ten and then
subtract 100-200 calories from that. The
number that the multiplication entails is
the amount of calories it takes to keep
your body at its current weight. If you
drop calories off of that it will lower
your weight. Drink a ton of water as
well and exercise, although I know how
tough it is when your thyriod is slow,
your so tired as it is it's tough to get
the energy. But it is worth it and will
make you feel so much better

Your hormones take awhile to return to
normal. Plus, you are not eating enough
calories. 900 a day is not enough, that
will send your body into starvation mode
and it will store as much fat as it can,
remember your body does not know you are
dieting, it just knows its food supply
dropped suddenly in the past few weeks.
If you continue on this diet you will only
lose weight if you kepp eating only 900
calories a day. Are you exercising?
