Hey I was wondering how you find out about
parenthood classes. Like does your Dr.
Bring that up when you are in your third
trimester of pregnancy? Like different
classes for stuff like lamaze (sorry never
saw that word but heard of it) classes and
all that stuff? I'm only 12 weeks along
(3 months and this is my first pregnancy)!

When you are due your 1st scan (approx 14
weeks pregnant) you have a talk then with
your midwife, she puts you through what's
going to happen in the up coming months
ahead, then she will ask you if you are
keen on parenting classes. I told her
at the time >yes!! But I went once
and never went back, in fact I had spoken
to a number of moms & dads that said
they wernt keen on them at all, and how
nothing prepares you for labour.
Then there are women that love the classes
& found them intresting and helpful
...I just didn't...But that don't mean you
will hate them...You may like
attending...Give it a go and see.
At my 14 week scan I was asked a lot of
questions not just about parenting
classes, but my birth plan also ect...If
your midwife don't talk to you about such
classes, then you must ask her.
I forgot to mention...When you do see your
baby for the 1st time on the monitor and
they give you the scan pic.....Nothing can
wipe the smile from your face, and you
find yourself showing everyone :d
<--looking like this
good luck

My doctor at the maternity proposed them
at my 7th month consultation...You can ask
at the hospital or clinic where you're
having your baby...And you book the
lessons directly at the maternity
good luck with the baby

You can ask your dr or ob 'bout it.
Usually clinics or hospitals conduct their
own programme. It will be my first time
to have a baby as well so my husband and I
decided to take ante-natal classes. The
programme is very extensive and it covers
topics on pre & post pregnancy,
delivery, caring for your baby,
breastfeeding and so on....The programme
usually takes a month, 4 sessions a week,
1-2 hours a day. They usually fill up
immediately so if you are interested, I
recommend you sign up very soon. I am
thinking of taking my classes between 7th
- 8th month.
